babyfaceafrica: It's in Africa people think like this. In Isreal over many decades, people easily alternate between being prime minister and cabinet minister. Same in Scandinavia. Some also leave high govt posts to become mayor of their small village of residence later in life. Funny enough people who occupy high positions in Nigeria are not even fit to be councillors in serious countries. I had a high flying award winning former professor who stayed as emeritus to teach mostly first year students anatomy. He had sumptouos offers from top university positions. Including ivy league US schools. In the extraordinary talent category to work in US. But he declined invitation from fellow top surgeons he came to know over the decades. Too much ego is not helping us in Africa. |
