The Honorable Member representing Chachanga Federal Consistency in the Nigerian House of Representatives; Rt. Hon. Umaru Mohammed Bago who joined the race for Speakership of the House said his aspiration is fueled by his conviction, in pursuit of justice and a response to calls from the North central geopolitical zone for due recognition in the political space and in the party.

HERE IS A BRIEF PROFILE OF THE 45 YEARS OLD UMARU MOHAMMED BAGO

Honourable Umaru Mohammed Bago who was born in Minna on 22nd February, 1974.He started his education at Marafa Primary School Minna where he obtained his first school leaving certificate (FSLC) in 1985. Mohammed Bago proceeded to the famous Federal Government College, Jos where he obtained the West African School Certificate
in 1991 with distinction.

Mohammed Bago gained admission into the prestigious Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto, where he bagged a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Mohammed Bago holds post graduate Diplomas and Masters degrees in Management from the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna in 2001; Masters in Business Administration (MBA) Economics at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in 2003, a Masters Degree in Finance, University of Calabar, 2005. Distinguished Alumnus from the famous Cambridge University in the United Kingdom in 2014.

Elected as Honourable Member representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the platform of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011. Hon. Mohammed Bago was one of the two CPC members of the House of Representatives from the entire North Central geopolitical zone.

Indeed Hon. Mohammed Bago was and is still a loyal member of President Muhammad Buhari's political family ever since the formation of the CPC in 2010. In the 2015, National Assembly elections, Hon. Mohammed Bago defeated his closest rival in the People's Democratic Party by a very wide margin this time under the banner of the All Progressive Congress got reelected for the third time in to the House of Representatives.

As a member of the 9th Assembly, House of Representatives, Hon. Mohammed Bago has been members of the following committees of the house the Banking and Currency, Appropriations, Education, Internal Security, Information and Communications Technology, Defense, Loan and Debts, National Planning and Economic Development, Media and Publicity, Civil Societies and Donor Agencies and Police Committees in the 7th Assembly from 2011-2015.

In the 8th Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Bago emerged as a highly experienced, astute and cognate House member which assisted in his emergence as Chairman of the House Committee on Maritime Safety, Education and Administration, a platform which the resourceful federal legislator has been utilizing in ensuring the rigorous enthronement of transparency, accountability, due process and the rule of law in maritime safety administration in the country.

Hon. Mohammed Bago has raised the bar of credible representation, effective lawmaking and diligent oversight of the nation's vast MDA bureaucracy to record levels as he has sponsored several motions and bills which are meant to ensure the seamless delivery of democratic dividends to his constituents and Nigerians in general.

Hon. Mohammed Bago has been a vibrant, eloquent and consistent presence in the Green Chamber where he is a relentless and indomitable advocate of good governance, national unity and socioeconomic stability and progress.

He has a uniquely cordial, healthy and pragmatic working relationship with all the members, his colleagues as well as the committees' rank and file capacity, capability, personality, force of intellect and purposefulness of action and conviction to lead the House of Representatives as Honourable Speaker.

He is widely travelled and his hobbies include playing of golf and reading.

Honourable Umaru Mohammed Bago is respectably married with children.

The bishop of mabise now is from abia ...we didn't fight him cos he was from anambra nope but because his zone has 7 bishop from 350 fathers ...mabise we have over 700 which is same injustice

In 2011 PDP zone speakership to south west ...we all know how u fought yourselfs
