The first thread was filled with so much sentiments and arguments and I will try and be unbaised as possible.

Ideas and contributions as well updates are highly welcome in this thread.

Let's begin!

The name the " Niger Delta was coined from two words, the Niger river and Delta, which means the Delta of the Niger river, or in other words, the point where the Niger river enters into the Atlantic ocean.

This region is very important because it's houses the petroleum industry which accounts for about 80% of the country's economic activities. It is sometimes called the South South region of Nigeria.
The Niger Delta like the central North is comprised of many tribes and ethnic groups concentrated mainly in Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta Edo and Cross river state which are the core states.

I wonder why southern tribes considered minorities can have their own thread in Nigeria's largest forum undecided

1. Akwa Ibom state.

The state is argued as the neatest state in the country and has seen recent developments in infrastructure and economy.

The main ethnic groups are the Ibibios, Anaangs, Oron, Ekets, Ibeno, obolos and others.
It is monolingual with several variations occuring in the various dialects.

3. Rivers State.

The largest economic hub in the region and a major oil city, Port Harcourt is located here. Major developments are centred on the city and it's metro.
It is home to the igbos, ikwerre( sometimes considered a subdialect of the igbos), kalabaris, okrikas, Bonny, opobos( sometimes considered as sub ijaw groups), the ogonis, abua, and many others
