We are going to be looking at joomla extensions development on this thread. There are 5 different types of joomla extensions:

For the purpose of this thread, all references are going to be based on joomla 1.5 version. You can get a copy from www.joomla.org

To create any joomla extension, you need a fair knowledge of php and xml. But dont worry if you are not familiar with xml. We'll give examples here.
The simplest modules have at least two files

[li]mod_modulename.php[/li]
[li]mod_modulename.xml[/li]
[/list]

If u dont know what a joomla module is, visit the link provided by *dhtml.

I'll be creating a feedback module for joomla (without captcha).

Not in anyway trying to interfere. But i think it would not be bad if you guys, intimate proposed learners of the end target application/applications, after the tutorial.

At least that will arouse their interest!

Very good, lojik is doing well. Lets follow what he is posting. When we are done with the modules, maybe i will take the next extension either template or component.
I have this widget on my website that allows you to create skeleton joomla modules, as in, it will generate a downloadable zip that will install into your joomla backend, so all you need to do is install it first, then modify the code and view the output from the frontend of your joomla.
