I will quote you, not because you are relevant, but because you are human.

Not everyone is a 9-5 slave. That's the highest I can say to you.

That was a blast to @Skedman

His or her heart would be shaking by now

the real truth about his situation is that he is in a local location else u won't have a block industry close to your house. If u want to live an European standard of life then go n live in estates in places like lekki ikoyi n the rest there u won't witness all these situations but if u stay around places like badagry express road then u will n must beat with your neighbors lifestyle

Are you in Lagos? Where in Lagos is this?
You need to understand that you can't take any action against them if they are operating in a mixed use zone. Go to the Physical Planning department in Lagos State for further enquiry on that.

You can sue them for public and/or private nuisance. You can also report to the appropriate government agency. Send me a DM on IG @fredogunduandco let's discuss these options

I'm on your side brother. Residential areas should be free from such kind of noises. You can report to your local chairman, whose son is probably the owner of the block business.
Welcome to Nigeria.

[b] Good morning Nairaland. There's this annoying Block industry just behind my house. The sound of their machine keeps causing pain to my ears. I can't sleep in the afternoon anymore.

The worst is that, they just brought in Another Machine, which makes the noise even worst.

I have been thinking of the agency who's in charge of this nonsense, that I can report to.

Any idea on what to do please?

L

Unfortunately you’ll have to deal with this issue for various reasons.

Hopefully you’re in a new site. If so they’ll most likely shove off once the area is fully built.

This is one of the nuances of living in undeveloped areas.

Good luck.

PS: please pardon some of the knuckle dragging responders. The possibility of offsite/remote work, working for or with international teams in different time zones eludes them.

There's a popular church (name withheld) who sighted their own old lister generator a distance away from their church but right behind our house windows.

The noise and the generator fume is sickening. We talked to the pastor, yet they refused to relocate it. We have left them for God cry

I know how you feel.
Been in that shoe before, you people made a mistake talking to them.

Your dad should buy amplifier and that speaker that looks like a trumpet..

Position it above your fence facing the church, then always play disco at zenith volume during their service..

They will personally call for negotiation.

Make sure you thank me later..

Make a sound-proof wall and window.

Or have a sound proof closet in your house where you can lock yourself
