Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has expressed his excitement over the huge numbers of aspirants jostling for APC governorship ticket ahead of November poll.

Governor Yahaya Bello in a statement issued by his campaign organization on Monday said many aspirants are contesting on APC platform because he worked tirelessly to build formidable and strong structure for the party in Kogi state.

The governor noted that his mobilization drive helped build Kogi APC from a membership of less than 50,000 to 500,000 member party with three years.

'Governor Yahaya Bello is happy about the large turnout of aspirants vying for APC governorship ticket ahead of November poll. We welcome them all to the race. It's beauty of democracy because only good brand will attract over 50 aspirants.

''We however implore aspirant not to overheat the politics or embark on campaign of calumny in order to win primaries. APC primary election is a family affairs and not do or die. Let approach potential delegates to canvass for support ahead August 29 primaries because the party has adopted indirect primary system.''

He however expressed optimism that he will clinch the APC governorship ticket due to his wide acceptance by party members.
