Well, I have not heard of sending out money without having a dom. account.
I tried sending money out like that once but all the banks (First Bank, Intercontinental, Oceanic and Zenith) I tried told me no way
If you are trying to pay for something online, you can just get a websurfer mastercard or better still openi a dom. account with a good bank.

Why must they have software charges after charging 1%. Call it anything but must it be called software charges. Unless it means something i dont know.

well, software charges is not for the bank.an int'l network provides the software and they are charged for using it.the 1% is for the bank.is that not small enuf.and the software charge is fixed irrespective of the amt of money u r transfering.cheers

its just abt the same procedure to send money anywhere outside to country.

i read all the replies i was wondering if i dont feel comfortable giving someone in naija my bank info is there another they can send me my money.  western union says they cant do money from naija to yankee, just yankee to naija i also tried money gram.  its not that i dont trust the guy, its just this na naija i dey deal with, he fit leave my bank stuff some where, and any of his friends, family whatever fit pick am up.  any other suggestions?

gonig to the banks makes everything confidential and proffessional.if ur details slips out which i think cant happen,then u can go ahead and sue them.banks have a specialised dept that take care of foreign transfers with cbn monitoring them so theres no reason to feel unsafe.cheers

I heard WESTERN UNION Headquarters do it but you've got to have a concrete reason for sending it (to curb money laundering).

I don't understand why you can send money into Nigeria but cannot send outwards via WU. Why?
Why should you have to wait for 24hrs to get a transfer is done directly through banks?

Deposit your money and request a wire transfer

Prepare for charges and also request a telex of transaction from your bank.

That is the only reliable and transparent way.
