A group from the Ijaw ethnic nation has developed a blue print for the political emasculation of the north between now and 2019 to create a smooth environment for President Goodluck Jonathan to rule for eight uninterrupted years.

The group plans to, among other things “wrest powers from the north and form alliance with smaller ethnic groups nationwide to isolate the north”, a plan referred to in a document obtained by Daily Trust as “the Okar solution.”

Further strategies to be adopted by the clandestine operation include, but not limited to, seizing control of sources of funding and military power. The objective is to ultimately support and empower Jonathan to retain the presidency until 2019 and emasculate the political strength of the north.

The document titled “Strategic Plan for the Ijaw Nation”, the implementation of which is coded “Operation Flush” has the immediate goal of institutionalising resource control through actualising the long sought 50% derivation principle.

It also seeks to immediately “capture key ministries, notably Petroleum, Defence, Finance and Internal Affairs as well as parastatals like the NNPC, PHCN, NPA FAAN and CBN. The plan is also to make sure that the police, military, EFCC, ICPC, SSS, Judiciary and the NDLEA come under control.

The group also plans to “strengthen grip on the media already mainly under the control of the Niger Delta” and “discredit possible challengers in every sphere or endeavour starting with the key organisations of government” including the NNPC, CBN and EFCC (being prime targets).

The document said “with the presidency in the hands of the Niger Delta, the group will ensure the use of “divide and rule tactics” to gain power across the country.

According to the group, the sum of N1billion has been proposed for the initial part of the operation but it is subject to review periodically. According to the document, the funding is expected to be derived from governments of the Niger Delta, oil companies operating in the region and office holders at all levels, among others.

I wonder when Nigerians would leave this mentality. So this rabid Ijaw group want to replace the Hausa-Fulani as oppressors in their thoughts. It is a shame that rather than think about progressive methods of building our communities and country at large, people are seeking how they will dominate others to their own detriment.

The 'North' have dominated for almost 50 years to their own detriment as only the elite are rich and the crushing poverty of the ordinary folk stinks to high heavens. That said, this article could very well just be mischief to upset ethnic champions with an unashamed feeling of superiority based upon one's parent's place of birth.

If the small Fulani can do it, why can't the Ijaws do it? lol
