Bethany Vierra, 32, lost custody of her daughter four-year-old Zaina in July after the court determined that the mother was too 'new to Islam.'


'The mother is new to Islam, is a foreigner in this country, and continues to definitively embrace the customs and traditions of her upbringing.

We must avoid exposing (Zaina) to these customs and traditions, especially at this early age,' Judge Abdul-Ellah ibn Mohammed al-Tuwaijri said in his July ruling, according to CNN.


The 32-year-old student had moved to the Middle Eastern country in 2011 to teach at a local university.

Vierra's ex husband used her social media as evidence that she was allegedly living a non-Islamic lifestyle.

Looking at the pictures even a Nigerian dad will take offense cos u don’t know what ur kid will pick up by such exposure and experience. At this age they are receptive to many conditioning of the mind and value based on what they see arround.

Islamic nations tend to make life appear difficult to live. Leaders marry many wives, hide in their houses to carry out the same offences used in judging the poor. No peace of mind for you in their countries.

when I say forget, I didn't mean to erase but to allow fate decide. that child is her Achilles heel, they will continue to use the child against her. maybe cause I'm not a woman but the only solution I can see her is letting go so the guy will loose his hold on her hence she will remain in emotional torture and bondage. the guy might not care about that child but is doing this just to punish her, not until you give your enemy the opposite reaction of what they are expecting, you can't win. it has always worked for me, it's just mind games

For instance, a foreigner in US who commits a crime, is he or she release and deported to his or her country?. Absolutely not. US would tell you the crime was committed on their soil. But if US citizen commits crime in other countries, especially 3rd world he would be sent to US without facing jail.

Have you all forgotten few yrs ago, a similar case like this about Italian husband and American wife who got divorced?. The case was treated in Italian court and judge ruled custody of their child in favor of Italian husband. Judge looked for every reason to ensured Italian husband get custody.

If this white lady is Nigerian muslim, I can guarantee you the ruling would be the same. Judge would look for excuse to make sure Saudi man get custody.

U don’t have to be insultive. Now if she didn’t take the child where was the child then? There are certain upbringing and exposure u want for u kids even when co-parenting, do they are safe and sound. Why must the lady join such Ridiculous festivals, which such generally questionable acts or expressions and yet married an Arab even tho a Jew or xtain will also have same reservation.

Also the lady married an Arab man so there is no issue of the dads culture being wrong or an issue here exactly yet. Parents shud act responsible for their kids based on both parents beliefs.
