PROGRESSIVE STUDENTS MOVEMENT PSM NIG CONDEMNS ATTACK ON SENATOR IKE EKWEREMADU BY IPOB MEMBERS IN GERMANY

The Attention Of The Progressive Students Movement PSM NIG has been drawn to an unfortunate yet embarrassing attack on a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria in far away Germany by members of the Proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB)

Information at our disposal reveals that distinguished Senator Ike Ekweremadu had honoured the Second Annual Cultural Festival and Convention organised by Ndi-Igbo Germany in Nurnberg only to get attacked by some unpatriotic Igbos residing in Germany.

PSM NIG Consider The attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany as a global embarrassment to our beloved country, Senator Ekweremadu had been billed to give a keynote address along with the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo.

Considering the personality of Senator Ekweramadu a former Deputy Senate President Of our beloved Country, the highest Political Office an Igbo man had attained in decades.

It is however on record and worthy of note to state without fear or favour that Senator Ekweremadu remains a leading figure, among a few other igbo senators who have consistently spoken against the unfortunate killings and kidnappings in South East and Nigeria as a Whole.

PSM NIG is calling on the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide to as a matter of urgency tender an unreserved apology to distinguished Senator Ekweramadu for the unruly, lackadaisical and nonchalant attitude of the Igbos and acclaimed IPOB Members in Germany,

Finally we are using this medium to send a strong note of warning to Igbos in Diaspora to shun acts that are capable of diminishing the hard built, industrious reputation of the Igbos all over the World. We call on all Igbos both home and Diaspora to remain peaceful, hardworking, united and loving as ever, this remains the core values of the Igbos, in our quest for a united and peaceful Nigeria.
