A 46-year-old Nigerian man, Obinna Stanley Ayanele, has been killed in South Africa.

A statement released by the president of the Nigeria Union South Africa, Adetola Olubajo, says Ayanele who hails from Uruala, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, was murdered in cold blood by some criminals in his shop in Krugersdorp, Johannesburg, on Tuesday evening August 20th. The armed robbers attacked the deceased with the intention of stealing his money and items.

“With deep sorrow in our hearts, the Nigeria Union South Africa regrets to announce the gruesome murder of another Nigerian, the late Stanley Ayanele from Uruala, Ideato North LGA, Imo, aged 46. Until his death, he was a small scale business owner, a stockist of petty goods.

Ayanele was accosted by some criminals at his shop in Krugersdorp, Johannesburg in the evening of August 20, 2019 with the intention of robbing him of his money and wares. In the process, he was murdered in cold blood. He was brutally stabbed severally, and they smashed his head with a hammer thereby leaving him in a pool of his blood to bleed to death,’’ Olubajo said

Olubajo said two of the criminals who attacked Ayanele have been arrested by the South Africa Police Service, Krugersdorp Cluster Station.

This is the reason why I want NANS to carry out their threat and attack South African establishment in Nigeria. If we start retaliating, then attacks on Nigerians in South Africa will stop.

His death means nothing. If he was one of the top men just threatened with beating abroad, his colleges would have swiftly swung into action so that they will not fall victim of the same ish. But since he is the son of a not popular person....... Life continues.

Nigeria needs to do something serious about this, we helped this people during apartheid, they have companies here, and they keep treating our citizens badly, killing them, what is even wrong with our leaders here na, send their ambassador home and recall our own, we won't die if we stand up for our right as a sovereign nation.

well said, this is not a matter of tribe but as one Nigeria. it's high time we start reasoning as a nation and not as an ethnic group. Today it's an ibo man tomorrow is might be a yoruba man
Codedrock:

I'm Yoruba and I think you sound like a mumu.. Nigerian or not Igbo or not, a human being was just killed majorly cos of his nationality and this is what you have to say? Newsflash: It could be a yoruba person tomorrow.. Maybe a relative of yours in South Africa.
