Its a welcome development, let them tell us where the cars that were purchased for the last assembly/senate members are. Just because you served the 8th assembly does not mean you go away with the cars, once your tenure is over, pack your stuff and go but not leave with tax payers properties. And if they are desperate for cars, let them purchase made in Nigeria cars, Innoson full stop.

Too much waste in government

Commendable from citizens, but a non-starter. NASS is the one government entity empowered to spend as it sees fit: it's in charge of the treasury. Executive creates a budget, subject to NASS approval. On the other hand there's no provision that I know of to subject NASS budget to any external approval. In other words, the courts can't do anything.

If people don't like what their representatives are doing with the peoples' money, they can recall them, or vote wisely next time.

It's not the system... it's the people. Biafra leadership also squandered a lot of the new country's wealth on frivolities (none of the leadership drove cheap cars or subjected themselves to rationing food for the cause). Same thing to be said of Western Region leaders... and we see all the exquisite palaces built during the Sokoto Caliphate. So I don't see how restructuring is going to prevent frivolous spending.
