Kaita is rubbish like Etuhu - poor positional sense and poor ball distribution. Running all over the pitch does not make you a good anchor.

When I started watching football, Nigeria used to play friendlies against teams in the calibre of England, Holland, Germany, Argentina and Brazil. At a point in our national life, we played lower teams like Jamaica and ghana almost every year until Ghana rubbished us (4-1) in England some years back. We also played even lower teams like saudi, Colombia, N & S Korea as our football fortunes continued to plummet. Now who are we playing? when other teams have defined their standards, weighed us and found us wanting (they reject our invitations/proposal by fire), we now play the lowest teams. . .best known for terrorism and nuclear wars "monging", than football. IRAN!!!! Chei! Our football has nosedived into bottomless pit. I won't watch dat match. Soon, we will register Somali, Yemen and Southern Sahara FAs with FIFA in order to have opponents for friendlies.

Get informed, even ALMIGHTY BRAZIL played a friendly match with Iran few weeks ago, so what's the fuss all about?

Honeric01, pls tell them ohh, when Brazil was preparing for world cup which countryn were they playing, cos we are playing iran does not mean we going down, most of the big countries are playing qualifiers or have already been booked, when we were not playing friendly u people complained when we are playing u people are still complaning

I still dont know why people still have issue with Kaita he made a very stupid mistake and we got punished, but he played really well against argentina always Di maria runs and Yobo was too heavy to get up for Greece second goal
Re: Nigeria Vs Iran Friendly Squad List by jerryuzo(m): 1:38am On Oct 28, 2010
can we have a team in this country ! testing young players ,what have we achieved. why cant we choose a good side european country to play friendly.there are still alot to do in nigeria football.since we don't have a board ,a substantial coach,. that why we cannot have a good team.

12large1, take it or leave it, Eguavoen is far better than Siasia in terms of Coaching. Events will unfold if he is given the job. Maybe he thinks SE plays under-age competition where he can cheat.

I think u shd be d one shutting up. Nigeria played Germany enroute France 98, we've also played England, Brazil, etc. . .we even played ghana, Jamaica . . .do u forget that this friendly against Iran is one of the occasional games we ever get to play outside major competitions proper? NFA/NFF don't usually organise friendlies for teams except "occasionally", as u know, wot then stops us from playing BIG teams? Our FIFA ranking will not improve with a win over Iran but will fall flat with a loss. . .think of it and then shut up.

most of the big countries are playing qualifiers or have already been booked, when we were not playing friendly u people complained when we are playing u people are still complaning

@ Clerc:
Guy wake up! u surprise me who booked the big countries? y can't we be the ones booking them in time? dat's my point. Take it or leave it, it is either they refuse to play Nigeria or we fail meet their demands. we want to play friendly but not with d lowest ranked teams, period!

We are informed. Are we now emulating Brazil only in this regard? Brazil can chose to play any team. To even think of it, do u think Iran didn't pay heavily for that game? How much is Iran paying u for this game now? U don't know it all Honeric, don't claim to do.

No mind over sabi people. we only run away from embarrassing scorelines that will expose our lack of policy in sports admin. Nobody seems to value playing Nigeria period. wot does it show? our football has fallen to its lowest ebb. So we need to look inwards and start building our game out of its current cesspit. all the admins do is to fight for control of the office and money instead of making positive decisions like giving us a substantive coach and organising friendlies that will help us find out our loopholes and discover budding talents. Honeric and co, who know evry will take anything from d Glasshouse but the few of us will continue to recall d good old days and pray for its return.

Now, we are on the same page. . .I now understand your problem. u didn't understand my stand. . .it was simple English. I meant that the standard of naija football (just like education) has fallen and u started opening your mouth without reading my post objectively embarassed embarassed embarassed. Thank God you finally put on your thinking cap to agree with me (via d bolded). Advice: Read b4 u post. If the authorities were making any effort to rectify d glaring problem, we would not be complaining.  SE has fallen below expectation, thus big teams don't find it worthwhile to play them.

Implying that Iran is one of the lowest countries when it comes to Football, do you know that Iran is even rated higher than Jamaica and North Korea we played before? so how is this a matter of "our football has nosedived into bottomless pit?

Your reply to my above response:

My response was my last post, so tell me, who's the one typing before reading? i only corrected your post when you said playing Iran was nosediving, i debunked that by typing that Brazil also played Iran, so what's the fuss? like i said above, Iran is bigger than most countries we have played before, so how does this translate to nosediving? how are you sure Iran is not the one paying us? we are flying there to play them just like Brazil flew there to play them, so what makes you think we are the one paying them?

Is it now you realized we now play lower teams? please answer this yourself, when last did we play any top-class country in a friendly? the last we played was when Abuja stadium was opened (2005 i think), we played Brazil and got beaten black and blue (0:3), we paid through our nose just to get Brazil to play us, not because we were good then (we didn't qualify for the world-cup, we were never good, the last good old days was in 1992-1998, the rest have been managing managing, so don't come here and be telling us about how we have gone down).

All the big countries you named, can you tell us how many we actually played?, can you tell us when last we actually played one? can you tell us if they played us because we were good then or because we paid them big money?
