If NASS is serious, they should phase out the SIECS. They are a condiut pipe for economic waste. All elections from LGA, State Assembly, and Gubernatorial elections should be held simultaneously and conducted by INEC. That is the only sure way for independent LG affairs. All these SIECS are governor's appendages.

Another election that will be roundly cleared by the party of the sitting governor or one he favours. Local government election in Nigeria is a sham.

It is better that they have decided to conduct theirs after how many years unlike other states like Cross River that the Governor is still reluctant to say anything concerning the local government polls.

LG elections is one sector of our country that is under state control and every state in the country menses it up, which leads us to sometimes wonder what will happen when every thing is truly restructured, things like state police will just be local touts.
