President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, have arrived the Court of Appeal in Abuja, venue of the Presidential Tribunal, as it set to deliver judgment today, Igbere TV reports. Our correspondent at the venue observed that members of the President’s cabinet including Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari; Minister of State for Niger Delta, Festus Keyamo, amongst others, are sited in the court room. This is even as supporters of both parties involved (APC and PDP), have equally blocked all door leading to the court hall, waiting to move in. There is heavy security presence (comprising of army, police, NSCDC) at the court premises, even as security operatives are taking their time to screen people seeking access to the court. Atiku and Buhari will soon know their fate, as the tribunal is expected to announce its final verdict on the February 23 presidential election. Igbere TV recalls that INEC had declared Buhari and the APC as winner of the election, having polled a total of 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku, who it said polled a total of 11,262,978 votes. The five-man panel of justices of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, is headed by Justice Mohammed Garba, as Chairman. Stay with Igbere TV for live updates.... No matter the outcome of the tribunal, there can never be an 100% justice to both parties. But, my mind tells me that Atiku will finally lose. Buhari will be adjudged the lawful winner of the Presidential election. |
