It can't change the fact that Messi is actually being favored. The year xavi an Iniesta won the word up, the award went to Messi despite them having a better chance after winning for both club and country.

All these argument no make sense, just imagine if they give this award to ronaldo some one will also dug out his old and new records too. The problem with this award is that they are saying best men player, instead of best striker, football is a game of 11 men in the pitch. Messi of 19 years ago is not the messi of today, a lot changed.. Both players evolved. Before ronaldo goes through the flank, run fast and assist, he enjoy running with players. As league changes ur mentality changes as coaches changes ur ability evolves, messi started dribbling often to 1-2 pass with xavi and iniesta, his dribble reduce, his passes increased and goals but not free kick, not jumping ability or scoring with weak foot, he hardly play penalties... Now messi is changing and gets goals with free kick, he pass less now, I can tell u during xavi and iniesta era 70% of messi goals was final taping from 1-2 passes .like I said coaches change ur mentality.. For example Mourihno of real Madrid likes to defend and counter, how do u expect Ronaldo to dribble when the formation requires him to counter and score.. Den fall back and defend.. What makes both of them equal is the ability to adapt over a decade.. Bros u have to be best to do that. Other Legends didn't last that much... Messi cannot drible always if he uses counter formation because its not necessary as much that is why liverpool strikers don't dribble much to score. Now solve this math Madrid use counter to win champions league for 3 seasons u will see that in a space of three years using same formation and style of play u hardly dribble of pass a lot. U dribble or pass too much when it is necessary, so I don't think we should judge dem using passing and dribbling in professional football. Only goals matters a lot in professional football.
