Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, have knocked Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media over his reckless tweet.

Bashir in a tweet on Wednesday, September 25, shared a video of the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina J. Mohammed, having a quick chat with Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, the President of the United Nations General Assembly.

He shared the video alongside with the caption; “DSG of the @UN, Amina J. Mohammed gisting President of the UNGA, Bande Tijjani in Hausa, how their Maigida (Boss), President Buhari was proudly happy seeing them sitting together to preside over the most powerful meeting on earth. #ProudNigerians”

However, reacting to the caption made by Ahmad, Mrs Dabiri, the chairman of NIDCOM, via her official twitter account on Wednesday, September 25, said the posting made by him is unnecessary.

“This posting absolutely unnecessary.

“Three out of four people on that world stage are Nigerians.

“Nigerians taking the lead!!! That should be the message!!”

Abike Dabiri Erewa was stylishly berating the media aid for exposing Mr President’s ineptitude and giving him another caption that could have masked the flaw.

"Nigerians taking the lead". Which lead if I may ask? Outside the country they lead, but inside it's a very different case.

There's a reason why they say "charity begins at home".

I am sorry to say this but the truth is that mere knowledge of how to tweet, post pictures on Instagram and update Facebook timeliness in addition to having fairly large social media following have seemingly qualified every Dick and Harry to claim MEDIA PRACTITIONER.

The good side of this development is that thousands of young people across the country who would have been ordinarily unemployed got hired by public office holders, politicians and organizations to operate their social media accounts.

However, the down side is the LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM and AMATEURISH INDISCRETIONS they display due to zero training in mass communication and public relations.

Unfortunately, lately many of such employees have relayed overly tactless messages on sensitive issues and some just communicated out of excitement or unnecessary idolisation of their principals.

Abike dabiri could have corrected Bashir quitely without the tweeter war, but she chose to rubbish him publicly.

This is a continuation of the looming war between the north and SW, abike is on osunbande's side, while Bashir is with the cabal.
