The Nigerian Senate says President Buhari will on Tuesday October 7th, present the 2020 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly.

Senator Adeyeye Adedayo who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, disclosed this in Abuja while answering questions from Senate Correspondents in Abuja today Thursday October 4th.

The presentation of the budget is coming on the heels of the consideration and passage of the 2020 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF/FSP) by the Senate.

Presentation of budget to the NASS barely 3 months to the end of the fiscal year is good enough.

However, my concern is that since the budget will be submitted even when the committee set up few days ago to look at the consequential salary adjustment for level 7-14 civil servants in the wake of the new approved minimum wage is yet to reconvene let alone submits its recommendation, I hope this early budget submission wouldn't be an excuse for non implementation.

Or is it that they have fixed such adjustment without agreement with the TUC?
