Pls between BMW X5 and Mercedes ML 350 2008 which one is more reliable, luxury. As in which one is good for everyday drive? Like as a business man which one is good for normal day to day activities. I’ll like to compare the fuel consumption of the both.

2008? NEITHER! Both brands were messing up on SUVs then (and I'm a Mercedes baby). Buy Acura or Lexus

The Benz, more popular and easier to fix. my boss uses that year ML350 and I have never seen it been fixed and the turning radius on that baby is bad.

I don't know much about BMW except Nigerians avoid it like a plague

I can tell you for all the reasons you listed above, both are guilty as charged. However if you feel like me ie want to go against the norm and be different then go for the BMW X5
Things to note, 2008 is a very old car bear that in mind, at this point you are meant to do some changes. Now if you are buying direct import from the US or EU you have access to service record thank God for people like radautoworks, U can get genuine parts.
Once you buy the X5 congrats, through the service history see what needs changing, The major challenge the X5 and most BMW face is an Oil leak, that's changing most seals.

The Benz is better and much reliable. The only problem the w164 has is mostly with the GL class and it's air suspension issues which cost a ton of money to fix. The M272 engine is also quite solid and reliable. If you want to get the BMW, make sure to only get the ones fitted with the 6 cylinder engine that is the N52 engine. Avoid the V8 version of that car (N62) engine and you would be fine.

Don't Know much about the Benz , as for the 2008 BMW X5 E70. All I have to say is run!!!
2008 is the yr that model was introduced so alot of trial and error.
The electrical issues with that ride is not here. Like there is a module for every function in that car, same modules that start acting up after some time.
Abi I should start with the cost of the spare parts, it share major parts with x6 so they are very costly.
If you expose that ride to dust and rain , na bucket you go use pack water under your carpet.
Competent engineers for that ride is another wahala. I can talk from here to lokoja about that ride but I don't have the strength now, however if you insist I have one for sale.
