how many Nigerians have smartphones? how many Nigerians have cable TVs... this means the reach of this program is very very limited to people in popular cities and towns in Nigeria... And these city folks are the same people online complaining of hardship, there's no way they could have voted 240million timea with their hard earned money. Even the last day which garnered 50million votes is an outrageous figure... after doing a research I discovered that most votes were online votes judging my the rise in the amount of traffic the dstv website got in the past 3 months... Many people are too dumb to think for themselves... it's annoying and it makes me see us Nigerians a particular way

You may be correct. But I am looking at the money this organizers made through just the text messages (sms voting) alone. Imagine if the youths can have a sole candidate at every level and donate just #10 to their campaign and vote for them. for yout information, every mobile number us allocated 100 free votes on their dstv website, same goes for every dstv and gotv with active subscription.

Most Nigerians have at least 3 active sim cards, that's an easy 300 vites from one single person. imagine 1000 people that's an east 300,000 votes, then include 1000 gotv owners and 1000 dstv owners that's an easy 500,000 votes... all for free...


that should tell you it costs almost nothing to achieve that number, am even surprised it's not more considering the number of attention and reach the show gets all over the internet in Nigeria and some African countries.

As an SMM and IM person, I did a quick research and audit on their website that is used for voting and I discovered a huge increase in traffic in the past 3 months with an average dwell time of 9 minutes and average pageviews per visit of 5.3.

Add all these little information together you'd see it's not all about the votes garnered from sms. And by the way the telecoms companies takes their commissions of the N30 per vote...
