Do your research well. Syria would have become like Libya if not for Russia.

The US under Obama was on the wrong side supporting insurgents against the Syrian government. Russia stopped the madness and helped to quash the Islamic state in Syria.

Under Obama there was a lot of mind control as the main stream media only reported what the US government wanted people to believe.

iswallker:

Really - Russia is fighting Islamic state...

Or they are perpetuating a repressive regime and commuting war crimes in Syria.

Nigeria my country... grin

President Muhammadu Buhari has looked to Russian President, Vladimir Putin, for much needed military support to combat the resurgent Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East.
Citing a report on Kremlin’s RIA news agency, Reuterssaid PMB will sign a Military Technical Cooperation deal with the eastern European state in the Russian town of Sochi before the end of October.
Nigeria’s ambassador in Russia, Stephen Ogbah, said, “We’re sure that with Russian help we’ll manage to crush Boko Haram given its experience combating Islamic State in Syria.”
The Buhari administration had in 2018 paid $496m for the purchase of two Tucano jets from the United States, which it said would be delivered in 2020.
According to Ogbah, Nigeria is interested in buying Russian helicopters, planes, tanks and other military equipment, adding that a draft version of the deal had already been finalised.
He added, “We hope President Buhari can take the talks to their logical end. The agreement will open new possibilities in such areas as the supply of military equipment and training for specialists.”

The journey to extreme poverty started with the recession created by the bad policies of the Buhari regime.
And his policies have continued to make things worse. In fact in the last Six months, things have actually gotten worse.

The easiest way to end the war which is a guerrila war in nature was never to allow it to start in the first place.

If any southern leader take over power after the Buhari government, the leader should settle with Boko Haram.

Let those people have the Islamic state they are demanding for and let there be peace.

We can not afford to waste both human and material resources to prosecute a war that has to end date in sight.

Guerrilla War by their nature hardly end too soon.

siding with Russia indirectly sends a wrong signal to USA in a political way.

Just my opinion though

Is America paradise? Russia has always had our back. Its propaganda that made Nigeria to affiliate with the US when it obvious we aren't benefiting so much. As far as I am concerned, America is doing us less. Yes, we need that kind of signal to the US. In fact it's coming at the right time that we can see that South Africa is lesser than Nigeria. The western world will only try to make South Africa superior. And when the real game starts, be sure that Britain is right behind Nigeria like Olumo rock and all EU will follow the terrain. Now that Russia is behind us, we just need to manage Islamic episodes very well so that Russian partners in the middle east will not be angered. That's all. Can you imagine that weak Jonathan swallowed all to the extend of smuggling in raw cash to South Africa just because he wanted favor from the US. America blocked all ways to buy weapons but wants us to follow their rules. Nonsense! That's how they frustrated Iran to the stage those ones started making nuclear weapons.

Is it America that keeps taking millions of naira for Visa, yet denying Nigerians are who to depend on? The US Visa system is the poorest. Cant they follow the way Britain and Canada are doing it. Yet they will start saying we are problems. They are their own problems. Just imagine. 1 min visa interview. Is that normal? And that's the biased way the country does everything she believes is right. No one can correct her. No one. But they always learn from affiliations like this. US is about losing Nigeria. I just pray someone as stubborn as PMB succeeds him. Osinbajo looks stubborn too. He has the gut if he has the power. Not people who will go lick US a.s.s.

this is quite foolish. How is engaging with the Russians shunning the west. Russia don't do business with political consideration and they are straightforward... You have the money and i give you the guns, that's their way....to get western weapons most times have a lot of intricacies and they don't sell much. You might negotiate for months to buy their weapons and it will take months or even years to get to you....this is just business oga, buying weapons from Russia is no big deal.....I don't know why you dey mis yan as if Nigeria doesn't do business with the west. The tucano jets that are to be delivered next year, aren't those from US....

Actually from the look of things your the naive one here.
And please we don't have any arms deal with China for fighter jets. But if you say we do can you please tell what class of jet they would be selling to us.
We all know that what we have in our arsenal when it comes to jet are old alpha jets and some dasults and these have been relegated to being used as training aircraft's in some countries.i agree that corruption would still affect the purchase but we can not eliminate the fact that it's still a wise military deal
C'mon let's face it the USA would not even sell their f18's to their close Ally turkey but just last year, Russia sold to us their state of the art Mi helicopter.
All I am saying is that corruption or no corruption ehh we can't keep hoping on the east bloc.
texazzpete:

You're so naive.

These weapons will not be bought in the quantity we need. Corruption will still leave soldiers on the Frontline underequipped and poorly led.

It is not because of 'American stinginess' that soldiers don't have simple helmets and body armor on the front Lines.

Besides, this is nothing new. We've always had arms deals with China for fighter jets.

Bro, try to reevaluate everything. I think it is biased to criticise PMB. The same America that has been blockikg us from buying weapons. You are funny ooo. And the same Russia that history has shown came to out aid many times. It is time to have a big "rethink" in Nigeria. If you know the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Russia, hmmm. The Nigerian ambassador to Russia is always a powerful extraordinary ambassador. In fact, PMB dear not send a walking stick man to Russia, just like the one sent to the US presently. You guys should go study history very well. A position General Buba Marwa fought for and did not get. Do you know the kind of people sent to Russia as ambassador? One was GeneralTIMOTHY shelpidi. That ECOMOG boss.

China is a capital NOooo. Hahahhahaha. Dont ask me why.

I believe that PMB knew that Saraki will frustrate his effort if he had started earlier. It was why they got rid of him as Senate president, and also silenced his deputy. Lol. Now he has a free ride in the Senate. I just pray the new Senate leaders dont allow him get everything easily. Cos that is a sure way to make him Epmeror PMB.
