What started as a rumour that some clandestine effort is underway to undermine the gains of the Obiano administration in repositioning Anambra for greater security of lives and property unwittingly played out with the recent tanker fire tragedy. Even as Nigerians and ndi Anambra mourn the loss of innocent lives, and empathize with traders who lost their wares, it is important that we do not lose sight of some events which took place under the cover of the mayhem. As we speak, one Stephen Anigbogu, media aide to the Commissioner for Transport, Anambra State is fighting for his life after he was hit by a bullet fired from the angry crowd, as some took advantage of the commotion to unleash their devilish intention. It is reported that but for quick intervention of security operatives he could have been lynched for no just course. Unfortunately, one heartless Victor Eneh, a well-known hireling of political interests has gone to town with a version of the story that suggests he was on the scene and may provide useful information. The question is who shot at Anigbogu and why? As we witness the ongoing circus show at Ochanja by politicians and their cohorts it is important that we remember that some keep awake that we all may sleep and live. Let us pray for Mr. Stephen Anigbogu.
