When a man sees injustice, does or says nothing about it and defends the injustice so as to protect his personal interests, such a man is not only a coward but also a slave to the powers that be.

Mobolaji Johnson was military administrator of the Federal capital territory of Lagos and later Military Governor of Lagos state. But to keep that office, he looked the other way in the face of injustice and became a willing slave of the North. Below are 3 examples of Mobolaji Johnson's treachery.

1)In July 1967, Northern elements of the Nigerian staged a coup that killed the then military head of state, General Ironsi and the Military Governor of Western Nigeria, Lt Colonel Fajuyi. The next in line to become head of state was a Yoruba man called Brigadier Ogundipe. Mobolaji Johnson stood by and watched as his fellow Yoruba who should have been head of state was chased out of the very Lagos he was controlling and a much junior Gowon was brought in by Northerners to replace him. Mobolaji Johnson just shut him mouth, looked the other way and accepted Gowon's leadership without question

2) As a Yoruba man and military officer, Mobolaji Johnson was there as the Governor of the Western Region was murdered and Ogundipe was chased away. He saw as the Northerners brazenly reduced Yoruba land to their personal property. Rather than galvanise his fellow Yorubas to resist this impunity and enslavement in their land, he joined the Northerners so as to preserve himself in office

3) Mobolaji Johnson was with Ojukwu and Gowon in Aburi, Ghana, when they both signed the peace agreement. He was a member of the supreme military council when Gowon broke that agreement which forced Ojukwu to declare Biafra and the war that followed. Rather than speak out the truth that Gowon caused the war by breaking that agreement, he joined his slave masters to castigated Ojukwu over a war caused by Gowon

Mobolaji Johnson was just another slave of the North
