Or they have "objectively" studied the bible and chose to interprete it in their own subjective way. Every christian does that. Besides, who sets the standard for objectivity when it comes to studying and interpreting the bible? That is the 1 million dollar question, is it not?

It was never against the will of the catholic church to prevent people from reading the bible.

First and foresmost the bible as a collection of christian scriptures was created by this same catholic church you are trying to demonize.The catholic church was also responsible for delineation of the bible into chapters and verses for easy reading.

the second point I want you to know is that Luther and Calvin disagreed on many doctrinal issues and both died as sworn enemies.

If anyone is to be given the credit for the bible that credit should go to the limes of Augustine,Jerome,Athanasius and others who played key roles in the compilation of the christian bible

Luther and calvin wre also responsible for the murder of catholics and others who disagreed with their faith.Most Notably is micheal servetus whose execution was endorsed calvin for disagreeing with the doctrine of the trinity

No don't count on it. When politics, nationalism, and greed is mixed into religion there will never be a time when Christians are united in doctrine

that's d truth, just google the names 'John wycliffe' & 'william tyndale',but to mention a few, d catholic only undatook d task of translatin d bible into latin when oda bible translators had manage to stir d heart of d pple to c d truth by sneaking and printin sum manuscripts

objective study among oda tins means studying d bible with an open mind(witout preconceived notion) ,studying indepth not shallowly, interpretin it witin it context and in a complementary manner wit oda verses comentin on d issue.
