Kiddies up there, the president can assent to any bill from anywhere in the world. It's evident this particular one was assented to in UK.

Buhari is not on vacation but on a private visit which means he is still performing presidential duties except the ones he delegates to his VP.
You are absolutely right bro, but don't you think the president is abusing the powers of the office of the president?! One, he went to London with tax payers money, for a so-called"private visit". Two, he is gonna spend two (2) weeks just like dat spending tax payers money without recourse to the national assembly, cos I don't think he transmitted any letter to the effect that he is going on a two week vacation. I'm not saying he doesn't have a right to go on a vacation/visit. The question is: Was due process followed? If it wasn't, too bad cos I cant imagine walking out of my employers for two weeks without permission, without permission.

Lazy ipob youth. Instead of them find out what the bill is all about and how they can benefit from the same bill, they are busy looking for where the bill is been signed.
May God help our youths.

It's already scaring off investors. The latest company trying to leave now is Chevron. Shell is also shutting down gradually from what I heard from their staff at RA here in Ph.
The comedy about the whole thing is all these revenues and monies repatrated/recovered, there is no single accountability. And all the medium of complains of the people is gradually clamped down by Fg. No wonder the departure wing of our Intl. Airport terminals are always busy these days...
They should all leave. We will get the oil out the ground ourselves or starve. Hurrah!

Private visit to whom?

Where in the Constitution is private visit for two weeks allowed?

Best thing to ever happen in the Nigeria Oil Industry. Oyinbo literally raped this country. My only prayer is that the bill apply retrospectively so that the like of SPDC, Chevron and other IOCs with offshore stake will pay Nigerians back their stolen resources.

A case in point is Egina Oil Field in which, at peak level, will produce around 200,000 barrels per day Nigerians will not probably get a Kobo.

Kodus to Buhari and all those that work behind the scene to get this important bill passed.

Yes, seen already that the tweet came out earlier today. The question we are asking is whether Mr President assented to the bill in London or back home. He is on 2 weeks vacation.
Anywhere in the world, the President can perform his constitutional right. That's the position of the law

Nigeria president accented to bill of magnitude importance to Nigerians in United Kingdom. This means much to us. Nigeria is finished.
Nigeria isn't finished. It's your ignorance that's alarming. Ask yourself if it's within the constitutional right of a president to function from anywhere in the world?

WHAT NIGERIA STANDS TO GAIN FROM THE AMENDMENT

Nigeria is projected to earn an additional income of $1.4 billion annually from international oil companies operating in the country if the bill seeking to amend a particular section of the act is passed into law.

Section 16 of the act states: “(1) The provisions of this Act shall be subject to review to ensure that if the price of crude oil at any time exceeds $20 per barrel, real terms, the share of the government of the Federation in the additional revenue shall be adjusted under the production sharing contracts to such extent that the production sharing contracts shall be economically beneficial to the government of the Federation.”

Although various stakeholders have been calling for a review of the act, there are fears that it might scare away investors from the oil sector.

As if any Nigerian knows the quantity of crude oil taken away from Nigeria at any given time.

That is the madness and oddity we are forced to contend with in this Next Level era. I wonder how critical national/constitutional assignments are ferried across continents for the President's supposed signature when we have a sitting Vice President whom the President, in his absence, should have properly handed over to. Crazy really
