Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, is not relenting in his advocacy for an Igbo president in 2023. Iwuanyanwu, a PDP board of trustees member, has stated that the Igbo political class will unite and ensure a southeast president emerges in 2023. He stated this at the 81st birthday celebration of a four-time senator, Chief Arthur Nzeribe, in Imo state. “When you come to the south, the south-west and south-southern part of the country have both produced presidents. It is therefore the turn of the south-east to produce the president of this country, come 2023 in the interest of equity and fairness. This is non-negotiable,” he said.

Iwuanyanwu, who recalled the strong case made by Nzeribe for restructuring of Nigeria as overdue, extolled the call by the celebrant for the Igbo presidency. There have been loud calls for power shift to the southeast in 2023 and Iwuanyanwu has been one of those in the forefront of the advocacy.

Recently, a former president of the Ijaw National Congress, Prof Kimse Okoko, has said that for the sake of unity of Nigeria, no other region should contest the 2023 presidency with the Igbo. Okoko said the push by some northern politicians for the region to retain power is provocative, even as he called for Nigeria to be restructured along the lines of true federalism before 2023. Meanwhile, a northern elder, Dasuki Nakande, has advised the southeast people of Nigeria to warm their way into the hearts of the other regions of the country in order to stand a chance to produce the next Nigerian president in 2023.

Eh yah... grin

Unfortunately, no one geopolitical zone can singlehandedly make their own a president in Nigerian politics. IPOB and the hunch man have abused, insulted and ran their mouths almost against all other zones in the country while Igbo politicians looked on out of fear. It's a game of numbers and I very much doubt we'd be seeing an Igbo candidate fronting for any of the two political parties.

PDP, as it is, will most likely hand theirs to Atiku while the APC will look the South West direction. Perhaps it is time to put APGA to test.

Overheard some group of guys discussing yesterday. Seems these people are beginning to wake up to the fact pdp has treated them with more disdain than anyone else, given all the sacrifices they've made for the party.

It appears they know this deep down and mute it to one another in secret but refrain from saying it in the open for fear of the backlash it would draw from those who've been the target of their hatred all these years.

People only sow where they can reap.. SE have little or no investments in Apc..BUT they have a large scale properties and investments in Pdp..

20 years + loyalty no be beans.. The question is why are SE afraid of asking Pdp for 2023 presidency?

You
Will you vote for an igbo pdp candidate?
Why do you suddenly so much care about Pdp giving igbo their ticket.

I have said it from time immemorial I could vote Soludo or Ken Nnamani any day any time.

That said, the East deserves their ticket more than anyone else having worked diligently for the party for TWENTY years.

APC on the other hand will give its ticket to the South West having worked diligently for the party since its formation.

But if the East insist they dont deserve any reward by pdp, then it will be utterly hypocritical asking that they be rewarded for ANYTHING by any entity.

Pdp came 3rd in the last anambra elections.
Apc came 2nd.
I believe after Buhari tenure, the igbos will start voting for Apc.
Buhari made things worse with his 5% 95% statement

Buhari made the statement after he won the 2015 election where Igbos voted massively against him. Whatever the case, Igbos are not interested in 2023 and Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is just an APC according to Kelvinginzie grin grin grin

I put it to you
Will you vote for an Yoruba Apc candidate?

Anyways, if PdP provide credibly Igbo candidate, I may vote for him.
Reason why I may/might is because they've abused other ethnic groups that ought to align with them

For fairness, equity and natural justice igbos should be given the opportunity to be president, insults, abuse they haul on other tribes notwithstanding.
