This is not "NEWS". It has long been held that 1) Atiku was a thief, 2) He and some American contacts (including a US govt' official) were in shady deals and corrupt practices.

Yet, why can't the US extradite Atiku to face the music? I know some1 will say there are international laws and this and that, but that would make a huge statement to all those other criminals we get for Naija.

Look at EFCC. Yes they are making some strides, but everytime we hear "Over 20 governors have mishandled N700 million". Yet hardly any names presented by journalist/EFCC personnel.

James Ibori is a free man, Orji Kalu a free man, not to talk of IBB, Abdulsalami, OBJ, and a whole army of thugs.

Good news. Would have been more better if the news had said nigeria's powerful finances and graft agency forces US to expose peptuators, including former VP.
e have to begin placing Nigeria and her ways for the better future because a better Nigeria is a better west africa and a great example for the east and south of africa.
Let us take the difficult and necessary steps because current generation is digging more hole for now and future generations.
*Let us make it a crime to steal /launder 100,000naira owned by the govt at any federal/state level; including taking bribe of any sort as govt officlal or representative.
*Let us balance our budgets and stop all this financial ambugity in the society. All local govt chairmen/women should not earn more than the equivalent of $35,000 with another $25,000 as offical necessities eg transportation, feeding, and emergency housing, bonus, including discounts on transportation and housing etc; House of reps $40,000 with $30,000 incentives as the LGA; senators $50,000 with $35,000 incentives; governors $55,000 with $40,000 incentives; vp $85,000 with $55,000 incentives; President $100,000 with $30,000 incentives; all per year. And minimum wage should be $400 per month for a regular govt civilian job.
*Let us tackle housing issues by building high and minimizing sensless real estates. If we manufacture as much as possible those prices will have to go down because of less building imports.
*Let us abolish chiefs and other hidden dictactorial titles and use their so called palaces as community libraries and bigger ones more than a certain square feet as museums. All we have to spend on are renovations including rennovating some of them as research labs or police stations if none.

You know what makes me laugh in these responses of outrage and indignation?

It is that 99.9% of these NAIJA posters here, were they to learn tomorrow that their Uncle or Brother had just been appointed Vice President, or Senate President, or State Governor, these same people would be the FIRST to organise ''Thanksgiving Services'' for their new Bread and Butter Machine.

They would be the FIRST to go to their new Cash Cow, to seek CONTRACTS, at INFLATED PRICES, so that they can MAKE ENOUGH MONEY to 'arrange' themselves FOR LIFE.

If their Cash Cow fails to play ball by doing all he can to make them rich, they'll slander him behind his back. Call him a fool and a failure. A man who could not ''help his own people''.

Even his townsfolk would turn against him, for not bypassing all other places to tar the roads in his own town first.

I wonder who you guys think you're fooling.

Corruption is a Nigerian Thing, not an Atiku Thing, or merely an issue pertaining to ''our leaders''.

Deep in the consciousness of just about every Nigerian is a private vow to get ''stinking rich''.

Thus, every situation offering control of resources is seen by each of us as an opportunity to ''hit it big''.

It is not ''our leaders'' who need to change.

It is US that need to change.

As you point your finger at Atiku, FOUR FINGERS POINT BACK AT YOU.

The NLC is severely compromised! They fight only for wages and fuel price related issues. They have become a single issue pressure group, backward and currupt in their entirety.  NANS leadership on the other hand, is heavily soiled. Those student leaders are worse than the politicians of today.

At the invididual level, the people are cowardly, oppressed, timid and selfish!!! That's why criminals have larger-than-life personalities in our societies today. Sadly, I don't see this changing in a long time to come.

I weep for my country!!  cry

Atiku and IBB are only contesting for 2011 because they might go bankrupt in some years to come if they dont invest wisely.
Run guys and stop using zoning to cajole anybody.
What we are asking for now is capability, merit, integrity and service delivery.
