Sending the weapons back to Iran would be in contravention of the UN resolution--can't remember the exact number--which placed an arms embargo on the country. The fact that the weapons came from there in the first place makes the whole thing trickier. |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by Seun(m): 2:44pm On Nov 16, 2010 |
I think the weapons should be donated to the Nigerian Army and Police. Let it be a blessing! |

We may need to use it one day on the trouble-makers especially in the Niger delta region. |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by Beaf: 3:46pm On Nov 16, 2010 |
The weapons need to go to GEJ's planned National Guard. The planned National Guard also need to be a high tech, fully digitalised force with all the gadgetry and wizardy to confound any political force (such as those that imported the weapons). |

Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by MaiSuya(m): 4:03pm On Nov 16, 2010 |
Beaf: Really? I got the quote below from one of your posts: A Security Council resolution bans Iran from “supplying, selling or transferring directly or indirectly from its territory or by its nationals … any arms or related material”. Nigerian security agents questioned one of the two Iranian men involved in the arms shipment but could not meet the second because he has diplomatic immunity. this could be deemed an indirect transfer, no? |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by Beaf: 4:23pm On Nov 16, 2010 |
^ That ban affects only Iran. It certainly doesn't stop Nigeria from making siezures, neither does it dictate what Nigeria can do with siezed items. |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by Nobody: 5:10pm On Nov 16, 2010 |
Please what Police of the world uses Rocket Launchers to police their own citizen? All you proposing handing the arms to Police are just funny. The military will naturally impound the amunitions not because we are in short supply of arms but because under International Laws we are required to sieze those arms. It is up to the Army to do with it what they like. |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by wenna4: 9:40am On Nov 17, 2010 |
Nigeria should not return the weapon because some tout use our money to import it,There4,it s automatically belong to us. |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by T9ksy(m): 4:50pm On Nov 17, 2010 |
And why should the nigerian govt. return the weapons to Iran? Hell no. After rigorous investigation, the ceased weapons should be return to the Original recipients. Afterall, these people have already paid (or partly-paid) for these weapons, so why should they be denied of their purchase. On another thread, there was the case of nigeria being asked to pay iran compensation for cancelling the schedule friendly football match between the two countries! Friendly, being the operative word. How can you have a "friendly" football match with a country that has just imported enough arms to start a civil war, into your country ? Enough arms to cause the death of thousands of nigerians? who needs "friends" like iran? Iran is not our friend, rather its our enemy if she's willing to destabilise our govt. and ways of life. compensation ko!reimbursement ni!! |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by chyz(m): 4:53pm On Nov 17, 2010 |
It's all propaganda. Iran has nothing to do with those weapons. |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by debosky(m): 4:55pm On Nov 17, 2010 |
chyz: The arms were made in Iran (as shown on the weapons), the arms were exported from Iran (as shown by the shipping documents), the shipper is Iranian (as confirmed by the shipping agent) and it is 'propaganda'? What evidence do you have that it is propaganda? Intelligence is sorely lacking |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by T9ksy(m): 4:59pm On Nov 17, 2010 |
@ Chyz, so who does? Abi the weapons just fall from the sky and miraculously found itself at the Nigerian port? Abegi, think before posting jo!!! |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by Shock(m): 4:59pm On Nov 17, 2010 |
Let's use the arms on the Niger Delta boys, whatever is left of it should be used judiciously on folks from Biafra! |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by chyz(m): 5:01pm On Nov 17, 2010 |
debosky: What evidence do you have that it is the Iranian government as they are making it seem? And who you to confirm that what they are saying is true? |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by chyz(m): 5:02pm On Nov 17, 2010 |

Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by Shock(m): 5:05pm On Nov 17, 2010 |
chyz: There are strong facts that points to IRAN, and its government is impeding the course of investigation. , , and you term it propaganda? Would you rather we blame the Chinese instead? |

Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by debosky(m): 5:22pm On Nov 17, 2010 |
You are not intelligent at all. . . .did the foreign minister of Iran travel to Nigeria over this issue for the fun of it? Do the statements of the Iranian foreign minister that the arms were indeed shipped to Nigeria mean nothing? But no, chyz' pea brain is more credible than the comments of the countries involved. |
Re: Should Nigeria Return Ceased Weapons To Iran? by MaiSuya(m): 8:39pm On Nov 17, 2010 |
@chyz, you obviously know something that we don't. . .pls suspend the suspense |

I feel we should keep it for ourselves, so if there is a war, we would have the advantage. |
