Nigeria's education system encompasses three different sectors: basic education (nine years), post-basic/senior secondary education (three years), and tertiary education (four to six years, depending on the program of study).

According to our findings, different state governments prioritizes education differently. While some took it seriously, others cared less about investing in education.

EDITORIAL TIMES obtained an info-graphic of the 2019 education budget for various states of the federation from the Budget office website in which Oyo, Bayelsa, Rivers and Zamfara states information about their budgets for education weren't sufficient as at time of filing this report.

Sokoto, Yobe and Delta states topped the chart with 25.93%, 24.20% and 23.92% respectively.

Kogi state has the least education budget for 2019 with 0.18%.
