emmm errr you want to go to the hospital to for a check up.
Your migraine could be caused by something as small as stress or high blood pressure, brain aneurysm or a tumor. It may or may not be serious but since you've had it for 3 years i'd advice you see a doctor just to be sure its not something that could be fatal.

Do you know what triggers it? I had two episodes a while back and it was because i took very strong coffee to stay awake studying for exams. I never tried it again and its never returned.
If the pills are no longer working then its must be more serious than mere stress. Please do get some help soonest.

Magnetic therapy, magnet therapy or magnatherapy, theses are all coinages from the use of magnets for the treatment of certain ailaments. It is a form of alternative medecine but in this case, medical disorders are treated by exposure to static magnetic fields.
Magnetic therapy involves the use of magnets of varying sizes and strengths, which are placed on the body in order to relieve pain and treat disease. .
WHAT IS POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ION?
Positive ions in the atmosphere have harmful effects on health while negative ions are beneficial. Our bodies make extensive use of irons such as Calcium (Ca++), Potassium (K+), Sodium (Na+) for Transmitting electric signals between the brain and the nerves. Ions interfere with the body's own internal communication system.
The arteries and the red blood cells are slightly negatively charged. Since they repel against each other, blood cells do not get attached to the artery walls or to each other ensuring smooth flow along the narrow channels,
However when we inhale the positive ions, they enter the lungs and then the blood stream, where they lessen the negative charge on the blood cells. Thus the adhesion on the arterial walls is increased and circulation efficiency decreases. In contrast, negative ions increase circulation efficiency.

Our bodies today have been developed in an environment enriched in oxygen water, nutrients and MAGNETISM. All of the natural human systems in our bodies are electro-magnetic in nature and respond to the earth's natural magnetism.

Our bodies' natural magnetic field is created by the flow of electrically charged ions in and out of cells, and the transmission of electric impulses through cell membrane. Due to the fast pace of modern living and the continual development in technology and society, the earth's geomagnetic field has grown very much weaker in the recent past. This field is constantly being shielded from us by everyday items we take for granted such as: steel cars, trains, airplanes, ships and metal framed buildings

Magnetic strength is measured in gauss. The higher the gauss rating, the stronger and more effective the magnet will be. Magnets can be compared to light bulbs. 40 watt bulbs do not shine as brightly as 100 watt bulbs. The same is true of magnets, the higher the gauss, the stronger the magnet will be.

The magnetic field has the ability to penetrate through the skin. Correspondingly, different magnets have different depths of penetration through the skin. A ceramic magnet might have a depth of penetration of 1 to 1.5 inches. If a nerve is superficial (near the surface of the skin) a ceramic magnet will be sufficient to control the pain impulse of that nerve. However, if the affected nerve is 2 -4 inches deep, a ceramic magnet will be of little value. Only the neodymium magnets have the ability to penetrate that deeply. (See graphs of penetration depth.)
HOW YOU FEEL PAIN

There is no such thing as pain if it doesn’t reach the brain. When a pain impulse is initiated, it must reach the brain to be determined as pain. Our illustration to the right exemplifies this concept.

The nerve impulse is carried to the brain in a manner that is similar to the flow of electricity along a wire. Simplified, the pain impulse is transmitted to the brain via a flow of positively charged magnetic particles called ions.

There are several ways to block the transmission of the pain impulse to the brain. One is the use of an anesthetic block. A second is the use of drugs which act on the hypothalamus of the brain to dull the pain. The third is the use of Magnetic Therapy to impede the flow of the nerve impulse.

By placing a highly powerful negative magnetic field over the nerve, the magnetically, positively charged ions will be attracted to the negative magnetic field, thus impeding the flow of the positively charged ions along the nerves to the brain. Of course, some of the positive ions will escape, thereby allowing continued sensation. However, our research reveals that the longer the magnets are in place over the affected site, the more effective the negative magnetic field will become, thus, the longer the product is used, the more effective it becomes. Magnets cannot simply be placed indiscriminately over an affected site. The magnets must be placed so that they can reach the affected nerves.

THE BENEFITS OF WEARING MAGNETIC JEWELRY

The body's energy is thought to flow through channels known as Energy Meridians. These can be compared with the currents that exist in a magnetic field. The meridians can be accessed through classic acupuncture points (acupoints) on the skin surface, and form the basis of ancient therapies such as acupuncture and acupressure.
In good health, energy flows through the meridians in a balanced way. Ill health is thought to be associated with imbalances or blockages in energy flow through the body. Many illnesses affect the bio-energetic functions of cells.
When energy flow becomes abnormal, acupoints on the surrounding skin become tender and painful to touch. These are known as tsubos. In acupuncture, these points are stimulated with fine needles to generate electrical impulses and restore energy balance. In magnetic therapy, the acupoints are stimulated by tiny pulses of electromagnetic energy

Magnets also have been scientifically proven to have a profound effect on a basic cellular level. It has been demonstrated that they increase circulation to the area within the magnetic field. They increase tissue phosphorylization, which aids in fibroblast proliferation and the healing of tissue. It increases the level of alkaline phosphatase at fracture sites, which expedites healing of fractures. It affects the membranes of red blood cells, decreasing rouleaux formation and increasing oxygenation of tissue. There are a multitude of other salutary effects of magnets on a basic cellular level, which are just beginning to be appreciated. So, although magnets themselves do not heal an injury, they increase circulation to the affected area, thereby helping the body to heal more quickly.

Veterinarians have been using magnets to help alleviate pain and swelling in horses. Recently, a group of advanced orthopedic surgeons have begun to use magnets on fracture sites to expedite the healing of some of the more difficult fractures.

Magnet therapy is a natural treatment for wide variety of ailments in both humans and animals.
The magnetic field created (by wearing magnetic bracelets or straps or sleeping on magnetic mattresses or pads) penetrates deep into the muscle and tissue surrounding an injury and reduces pain by neutralising the inflammation and swelling in the area for most types of joint, inflammatory and muscular conditions.
WHAT CAN MAGNETIC THERAPY DO FOR YOU
Chinese, American, Russian, German and UK scientific studies have proven that sufficiently strong therapeutic magnets (not fridge or toy magnets) will:
 Improve Your Circulation by stimulating the red blood cells and blood flow hence getting more essential oxygen and nutrients to your organs, muscles, joints and limbs!
 Reduce Inflammation and Swelling by excreting excess fluid and promoting a Toxin Free Body!
 Experience a Tremendous Boost in Energy due to your improved circulation and elimination of toxins which allows your heart to rest, hence, LOWERING your blood pressure and pulse rate naturally.
 Encourage Deep, Long and Restful Sleep as magnetic therapy brings the levels of 'melatonin' the sleep hormone back to its optimum level.
 Strengthen Your Immune System through the cumulative result of more oxygen, more nutrients, balanced hormones and a rested heart.
 Above All Reduce Or Completely Get Rid Of Your Pain. Your mobility is improved as you have less pain that restricts your movement. You don't have to take as many painkillers and in some cases NONE - And all these benefits without any side effects!

@ Poster
I get migraines when I drink red wine at night. My elder sis used to have migraines as well, and she was advised to stay off Citrus fruits.
You might also want to consider herbal remedies. My sister uses dried Avocado pear leaves for hers

now normally migraines are hereditary believe it or not and they are classified differntly. Just go to the freaking Doctor, hopefully u dont have any problems with ur sleep cycle or eyesight right?

Having migraine does not mean u have brain tumor just because the pain is severe and one sided. The main cause might be stress and lack of rest or most definitely ur body lacks some basic nutrients it needs to function and the migraine is just a sign that ur body needs some essential stuffs for it to function optimally.

I got rid of mine through plenty of rest of mind and body and through supplements. For more information on d supplements send me an email on lambo3a@yahoo.ca or call me on 08028868114 or thru yahoo chat with d id lambo3a.

i have the same problem. just re evaluate yourself again to see if you can get a clue of where it's coming from (like i did). for me i drink coffee a lot and i don't sleep well (student and work). right now i have reduced coffee (stopped). even the energy drink i had to quit all those things. get a good sleep and try not to worry too much abt anything. so far am managing mine well. i hope you can too wink

one most important thing though, see your doctor. Be well and lots of cheers to you wink

Since it happens at work mainly, it might be your PC monitor. You might also need to see an optamologist to find out if you need glasses especially a photo chromic one to help cut the glare from the monitor.
