Igbo sociocultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo, has condemned the invading of Sun Newspapers office by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Igbere TV had reported that armed policemen and officials of the EFCC, on Saturday, stormed The Sun Lagos headquarters, marking the building "EFCC, keep off".

The EFCC had in a statement issued after the operation, attributed their actions to the recent judgement delivered against Slok Nigeria Limited by the Lagos state High Court.

The Sun however faulted the claim by EFCC, saying the newspaper was not a party to the case of EFCC vs. Orji Kalu & 2 others, wondering why its premises should then be marked.

Reacting to the development in a statement sent to Igbere TV, President-General of Ohaneze, Chief John Nwodo, said Nigeria was gradually turning into a police state.

Nwodo faulted the EFCC for its action, saying Sun Newspaper was not joined in the suit involving Senator Orji Kalu.

“EFCC must make a distinction between private liability and corporate liability. Sun Newspapers was not mentioned in the court judgement against Orji Kalu. The sealing of Sun newspapers must be explained otherwise we are descending into a police state.”

Nnia Nwodo should stop making a fool of the entire Igbo race world wide.

Orji Uzor Kalu established The Sun Newspapers with proceeds from funds looted from Abia state government treasury while his stint as Abia state governor lasted between 1999-2005.

And therefore it must be confiscated and turned into a public property owned by Abia state government.

This should serve as a further lesson to other corrupt politicians in the SE.

#stop making our region underdeveloped and forcing us to slave away in foreign lands in search of greener pasture.

Meanwhile, Nnia Nwodo's remainings days as Ohaneze President, are numbered, for the series of disgrace he has brought upon Hallowed Igbo nation world wide.

Ohaneze is right on this, Sun is a corporate entity with shareholders. The judge did not issue any exparte motion asking FG to take it over or seal it.
Femi Adeshina used the Sun to promote and repackage Buhari and was rewarded with his current appointment.

Let's keep sentiments aside and ask EFCC to tell us their reasons for sealing off Sun newspapers, the Chairman is in prison, and Sun is not a party in the case, or is it a ploy to gag the media?
If we put sentiments in front next could be Punch or Tinubus Nation.
The borders in the South West are closed stifling economic activities in the border areas meanwhile over here in the North it's business as usual at the he borders.

South East and SS is filled Police and military checkpoints at every meter, meanwhile here in the North we drive a hundred kilometres with no single checkpoints despite armed murderous herdsmen, Boko Haram, ISWAP, etc

Is the Sun Newspapers part of the so-called Slok Group? The answer to this simple question settles everything.

Nwodo, speak for yourself. For the looting of our commonwealth in Abia and the laying of the foundation for the serial pillaging of the resources of that state, for the sorry state of that state, I say it is deserved.

If the procceds of looted money were used to set up the business, then the Sun Nigeria has no business operating at all.

EFCC though really has no business closing the Sun, as the case is still sub-judicie. However....let's be frank, these corrupt leaders steal money that could have been used for the benefit of far more people than establishing the Sun Newspaper and use it to build their empires.

Enough is enough. Yes, let them start from Southern leaders and leave the North alone. In two decades time, we in the South would be enjoying the benefits of the incorruptible leaders that we have used to replace the corrupt ones, while the North would be suffering more and more...till they wake up and deal with their bad stealing leaders.

Then Nigeria will start moving forward.

Enough is enough. Abia state has been hijacked and wrecked enough by bad leadership. Time for some changes to start.

Then approach the court who gave the efcc the right to seize the company. Ohanneze should stop disturbing us. Since they have those information why didn't them present it the court.

All Nigerian owned businesses from globacom to dangote, to Arik air are all stashed with stolen money.
Ohaneze is wrong to bring this up but efcc should follow up with Siemens and haliburton deal which united states has punished Americans involved and efcc is keeping mute over Nigerians involved

They should not only seal the company, they should close it also. I have been seeing sun newspaper since i was young, now i'm getting old, the company building is still looking like a pool office. They are not making progress.

Whenever you hear than an Igbo man got an award, Ohaneze is silent. When an Igbo man achieves a great feat, Ohaneze is silent. Whenever Igbos do fantastically well, Ohaneze is deaf and dumb.

However, just mention that Keleshy got arrested for stealing, Ohaneze would immediately issue a press release defending Keleshy.
Let Igbos kill Policemen, Ohaneze would immediately defend Igbos.
Let Okoro be caught stealing government funds and be sharing kerosene to Igbos, Ohaneze would defend Okoro.

I suspect that they gathered the most morally bankrupt old men in Igboland and created a gang called Ohaneze for them to be disgracing Igbos.

Nwodo was talking based on interpretation of the court judgement not based on your assumption. The Sun Publishing was never part of the case and was never mentioned so why shut it down?
