DETERMINED to ensure quality education, Governor Chibuike Amaechi has directed the Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Port Harcourt to withdraw all degree certificates awarded within the past seven years to some of its graduands who failed some courses but had them waived to enable them graduate. The governor explained that the move was part of the state’s policy to revive the education sector and ensure that all forms of fraud or examination malpractice in the state are punished. |

Action governor; this waiver nonsense has destroyed the educational system in Nigerian universities. Imagine a graduate of linguistics waiving a level 400 course in indigenous languages or a physics graduate waving a course in optics. |
