It can never be a weapons problem. Strategy and the surprise factor is key to the terrorists occasional victories against state army. There's no how a ragtag bh/iswap can be better armed than a standing army if the right things are done.

I read it on Yahoo news yesterday. I was so surprised that no media in Nigeria published this news . Very shameful.
Nigeria is fighting a battle that can not be won because the purpose of it has been established long time , the actualization is what this people are carrying out. I pity the southern Nigeria that this atrocities committed by this sect were solely back by the entire northern Nigeria.

Do you really imagine that BH is armed like the Nigerian army? If you think so, then you clearly do not know about the politics at play with Boko haram. That the fulani led government are toying with the lives of Nigerian soldiers while pampering Boko haram doesn't mean that they can't be wiped out if a serious government wants to do so. BH has no armoured vehicles. Their mechanized/motorized guns are mostly improvised compared to what Nigeria have. They have no air support which the NA have yet you claim they're better equipped. Boko haram is clearly a game by northern politicians for three purposes namely; intimidation, looting and training. What is their manpower? 20,000, 30,000 or more? Can you compare that with the NA? It's all a game.

No govt in the history of Nigeria empowerd terrorist like buhari's islamist regime. Repentant terrorist must be having a field day no thanks to this regime.

Nigerians must unite and divide this useless country. There's no sense in using Nigeria's resources to fight nothern terror creation.
Boko haram will be better fought if Nigeria divides.

Northerners are the very ones keeping boko haram alive.

Its no game. Its an unconventional war where the enemy is not visible. The same reasons why the USA military have not wiped out Taleban in over 10 years of fighting in Afghanistan.

And it wasn't because the Taliban was better armed.

The two situations are not the same. The US army is fighting a well entrenched Taliban group which was a government before the American intervention. The US army is fighting them in outside US territory plus the rocky terrain that the Taliban has mastered. Do you even know the population of the Taliban?
Compare that to the NA fighting a ragtag group within the Nigerian territory which is more a level ground with less hideouts. Incompetence and politics are the reasons for the lingering exchange.
Do you even know why bh don't operate anymore in Kano and Kaduna? Do you think it is improved security? Lol. If it is improved security, why do the fulanis still operate in Kaduna as they please in the form of bandits? You don't know what is in the offing for the naive.

You are very wrong. The USA/Tliban war is comparable to the Nigeria/Boko Haram war. The USA military is 100 times better funded, equipped and advanced than the Nigerian army and Taliban yet they have not been able to wipe out Taleban fighters. The poorly funded and equipped Nigerian army have also not been able to get rid of the ragtag group operating across 3 borders. The common factor in both cases is that both national armies are fighting guerrilla wars. Yes incompetence and politics might play a part, but the primary reason is the type of war they are fighting.
