please I wrote this in haste -- and in sadness -- so I'm culpable for the error(s).

GONE BEFORE NOON

Never knew I’d be writing this for you my guy
Because I didn’t imagine you’d be leaving this soon.
You left way before noon,
Leaving this putrid low for the sublime high.

Like anti-matter, you were small but powerful,
Talking, writing and thinking as though
Wrinkles grace your brow.
Now you’re gone, God, how painful!

Despite the early exit, you were not unsung.
From the east, south, north and west,
The world sings evenly of your zest
And vivacity … oh! What heart-rending song!

Nairaland, your second home, grieves without ceasing.
We look up to God, our prayers to Him
Is just the same: let this be a dream.
We know it’s for real, but we keep on wishing …

Your fellow Gunners are speechless –
Yesterday a Gunner,
Today a goner –
Life is worthless!

(B)awomolo, till we meet again,
I wish you peace,
I wish you bliss.
(B)awomolo … be without pain.

Thanks, Mr. Ola. Been a while since I had a literary exercise. I fear my grip on The Word is getting tenuous by the day. Thanks!
