Bros....you na baba na! People earning as low as 20k/30k are managing their lives and living fine with wife/husband and kids. With 130k/month you can comfortably pay 270k/year rent. If you can be prudent enough you can live fantastically fine. Yours is even better since you have no or less responsibilities. Your salary is cool dude.....structure it very well. Very okay My salary is 100k, and sometimes reduces to 90something due to some deductions. My house rent is 288k My wife is a student with 70k house rent too. I have a son. I am doing okay. One rule of thumb is the maximum you should spend on your rent is your three(3) months salary. Marriage is your call; but I’d like to give a few advise; 1. Try to have something in reserve. 2. Sadly, you may be the one there for you; expect nothing from anyone 3. Avoid borrowing for your wedding; do not carry debt into your new life. 4. Look for a lady who isn’t materialistic 5. Average working class Nigerian have a sense of savings even if it as low as 1k/month...they always strive to have something to bounce back on. If you don't have any responsibility hanging around your neck, you can pay 270k per annum as rent with monthly income of 130k. It can work out if you mean business. OP this is the conclusion of the whole matter: Except the Lady u want to marry earns at least 100k Don’t marry just yet. U won’t be able to sustain children and That 200kplus houserent and still meet other needs, period! Nigeria is a very difficult place o! So don’t bring forth any other human being(child) inside this place without proper preparation. Forget all those deception of how 20-30k sustain people, Las las na u go suffer am. sofiscatedmoron: So someone earning #130k (especially if it is net pay) cannot put aside #25k monthly for accommodation? If where he stays is not far from his place of work, then he'll probably have #85-90k left after taking care of transport & accommodation. It may not be much, but that's okay if the wife is also working. All he needs to do is cut down on unnecessary expenses. 25 Likes |

If the source of income is "stable" , then you are good to go. Not the one that it will 130k this month, 100k next month, 115k another month. As long as there's assurance of the 130k coming in, then you have nothing to fear. A stable source of income will enable you plan and save.
