Is the above not the essence of MLK's successful civil rights campaign such that Nigerians can stroll in and out of the US without being afraid of lynching for just smiling at a white girl or entering a restaurant through doors marked "For Whites" or seating at the front of a bus etc?

Point was, how can Jefferson say he prefers freedom to slavery when he himself was a 'slave master'? Not all authors are quote-worthy as they themselves only preached a life they actually didn't live.

Do you know if he inherited the situation and his words are aspirations matched with subsequent actions in line with the realities of his time?
