I like this comment so during regional govt the center was weak n the regions powerful, so why did the foolish Igbos that orchestrated the first coup in Nigeria initiated the coup ? If those fools never initiated a coup would there ever be a counter coup that brought Gowon in or because majority of those leading the coup were Igbo we should ignore that part of history n allow bigoted Igbos like you pick n illustrate deceit lies n fraud as history to us ?! gidgiddy: 2 Likes |

tricksters: Every country in West Africa went though military coups in the 60's and 70's with the exception of Cameroon. Military coup was fashionable back then Why was it only Nigeria that fought civil war over coup? 2 Likes |

gidgiddy: Preach it brother!!!!! Gowon murdered Nigeria in 1967 with the creation of states. Imagine giving six states to one region and then share out the remaining 6 states to 3 regions. Ojukwu was a man who saw tomorrow. He knew the implications of such a dysfuntional system. More importantly it was against the spirit of Aburi accord where an agreement has been reached for confederation. He attempted to pull out his people from the future calamity that Nigeria will later become. Our brothers in the Delta bought the Igbo domination and 'our oil ' propaganda. Yet years later they have to fight and are still fighting to regain control of their resources from thier 'friends'. The middle belt and Christian north are the worst hit. They misinterpreted the " one north" mantra of the Jihadists. Today their land has become cemetery. Pregnant women, children, old people are not safe in their homes. Our brothers from the wasteland will rather play the ostrich than admit they were ignorant of what was as stake during the 1967-1970 civil war. A country which they are equal members of was suddenly tipped to favour the complete domination by one region. Before their eyes, the ability to decide how the future of their unborn generation will look like was taken from thier hands. Funniest part is that they took up arms against the one group who knew how far. They fought for thier enemies interest. Today, all man dey enjoy the calamity called Nigeria. The Hausa Fulani mentality has been stamped on our national psyche. We now have a zombie system, churning out zombie leaders and more recently zombie followership. We have been so immersed in the trademark mediocrity of the north that it is almost impossible to extricate our sanity from the layers of confusion that has built up over the years. We deserve pity as a nation. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Oh! So we are now justifying coups now cos foolish Igbos refuse to take responsibility for their foolishness ? Also did coup in other West Africa countries consist of some bastards from a pathetic minority tribe slaughtering the democratically elected Prime Minister of a majority tribe with the regional governors of the majority tribes being slaughtered while that of that pathetic minority tribe is spared ? Did it entail fools from from minority tribe slaughtering democratic elected Prime Minister of a majority tribe then drag his Lifeless body on the street of Lagos ? Was that also fashionable in the 60's n 70's ? Were barbaric swines such as those that committed this ignominy fashionable then ? gidgiddy: 1 Like 1 Share |

gwafaeziokwu:lol. Perfect description of what Nigeria has become .. Meritocracy is dead. Yet stupid people are still shouting one Nigeria and Laying the blame game... Gowon that, ojukwu that, ironsi that.. At the end of the day the benefiting side has been in power all long. Question we should ask is this .... If coups and the civil war were all to favour core hausa fulanis. Then we should reason from the angle how they influence this people i listed above. Minus that we would keep arguing while Middle belt is totally wiped off and Hausa fulani controlling every nuke and cranics of the country, importing thier kind from other country to enjoy in the party. I pray topic like this can be delibrated as national topics up 6 months but NO instead we start delibrating who would be the nxt fictional president after an election Month. 1 Like |

gwafaeziokwu: Equal partners in a joint enterprise. But when Gowon and his fellow Northerners decided to enslave them with Decree 14, they meekly fell before their slave masters without a fight When Ojukwu refused to accept enslavement and went all out for freedom, they called him a fool and even joined the fight to make everyone join slavery Thats Nigeria for you and why they dont teach Nigerian history 3 Likes |

Racoon: They conveniently pushed him forward as the face of the Nigerian state and its ‘fightback against Igbo intransigence, hate and hegemonic designs over everyone else’! Fast forward almost 6 decades, and i’m certain the scales have fallen from the eyes of many who were led to believe Igbo was their problem! No Igbo has been in charge since 1966….hope his people can see the outcome of his gullibility!? |
