Uwheru Kingdom in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has banned the sale and consumption of cow meat in the kingdom following incessant herdsmen attacks on farmers and other residents of the kingdom.

Uwheru is one of the 24 traditional kingdoms in Urhoboland in Delta State.

Our correspondent gathered that the ban was imposed on Saturday at a meeting of the kingdom attended by prominent sons and daughters of Uwheru Kingdom, including Prof. Patrick Muoboghare, the Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education.

The decision which takes immediate effect followed last week’s repeated attacks on the communities by Fulani killer herdsmen in which no fewer than 10 persons died.

Sources close to the meeting revealed that no fewer than 86 farmers in Uwheru communities have been killed in herdsmen related attacks in the last 12 years.

A source said, “By this ban, nobody can bring cow meat to any of the communities that made up Uwheru Kingdom for any function, be it burial or any other celebration. You can’t kill our people and expect us to be eating cow meat when our people can’t go to farm. The ban takes effect immediately.”

Urhobo banning cow meat won't affect the fulanis, if the Igbos can do the same, then watch the fulanis all over Nigeria die of hunger.

Chopping off one's head is not a cure for headache

Is it only Fulani that owns cows?

Meat sellers are not even Fulanis. They are predominantly indigenes of that community. Are they going to render them jobless?

This country have never been more divisive as we have it today

Fulani herdsmen have been killing, yet no single prosecution of just ONE of them.... JUST ONE.

It is more lucrative and safer to join the Boko Haram than the Nigerian Army now

If you caught as a Boko Haram member, you're arrested, refurbished, repainted and released back as a REPENTANT HARAMIST. Buhari is just a genius grin

Insecurity keeps rising, justice keeps disappearing, and to the 15 million eggheads, it's SAI BABA cheesy

Let's keep enjoying the ant infested wood that we brought home.

Haq Haq Haq cheesy

Sir, I will like to clear this misconception.

As much as I am not a Muslim, I am a Yoruba but I think we may have gotten this Yoruba and Hausa Fulani partnership all mistaken.

Historically, Igbos and Hausa Fulani had always had it together until Igbos Bleep'd the arrangement up through the coup de tat by Kaduna Nzeogwu and Emmanuel Ifeaguna (Igbo).

Check it,

1960.... Nigeria Independence
First Republic: 1960-1966
Prime Minister: Tafawa Balewa (Hausa/Fulani or whatever, but not Yoruba or Igbo)
President: Nnamdi Azikiwe (Igbo)
Yoruba: ?

Second Republic: 1979-1983
President: Shehu Shagari (Hausa/Fulani or whatever they want to call it, but not Yoruba or Igbo)
Vice President: Alex Ekwueme (Igbo)
Yoruba:?

Third Republic: 1993
MKO Abiola (Yoruba), Running Mate: Kingibe (Hausa) won Tofa (Hausa) and his running mate, Sylverster Ugoh (Igbo) in the election
Francis Arthur Nzeribe (Igbo) appealed to court to stop the declaration of MKO Abiola as the winner something IBB capitalized on to annul the election.

Fourth Republic: 1999-2007
Obasanjo (Yoruba) and Running mate Atiku Abubakar (Hausa Fulani) won

Fifth Republic:2007-2011
Yar Adua (Hausa Fulani) and running Mate, Jonathan (South-South/Igbo)

Sixth Republic: 2011-2015
Jonathan (South-South/Igbo) running mate, Namadi Sambo (Hausa Fulani) won

Seventh Republic: 2015-2019
Buhari (Hausa/Fulani) and running mate, Yemi Osinbanjo (Yoruba) won

Eighth Republic: 2019-
Buhari (Hausa/Fulani) and running mate, Yemi Osinbanjo (Yoruba) won

So you can see that Igbo served the Hausa folks well against the Yoruba folks and only lost out due to the Biafran War and even derailed the most peaceful election in Nigeria just as to appease the Hausa master. They even staged a 2 million man march for Abacha to campaign as a civilian President, headed by one Daniel Kanu (Igbo).

It's only when the narration does not fit you, you resort to Yoruba asslicking Fulani butt... from the outset, Igbos had been the ASSLICKERS!!

What would you rather them do? smile sheepishly and act like nothing happened? banning of cow meat is a step in the right direction, killer herdsmen and their cows aren't wanted in Uwheru Kingdom.

72Morale:

Unnecessary comparison, you mustn't drag Igbo into every topic. Downgrading the effort of others just to feel superior about yourself is wrong.

The ban wasn't to make make Herdsmen die of hunger in Nigeria, but to make them useless in Uwheru, for now selling of cow meat and grazing of cow is prohibited in the kingdom... more actions will be enforced soon.

I really wish southern communities can begin to take such measures. What will they be doing in the communities when their products are unwanted and won't sell.
Warrior as a whole should ban cow meat in their market.

Not buying the cows won't stop the killings or reduce the inflow of killer northern men

What you should do is pray to God to allow an occurrence that will be the last straw

Then we will see with our eyes how Nigeria will no longer cease to exist..
And there will not be any killer northern men in our cities again

This is exactly what Igbos should do.

Do you know that south east region is the largest consumers of cow meat in Nigeria.

Majority of Fulani cows making it towards south with their Distruction and killings are heading to the East to sell their meat.

Do you know how may cows are slaughtered weekly in the east for various events and regular consumption.

Igbos needs to know that they are indirectly keeping Fulani businesses alive and funding their terrorism.

It’s time for us to go back to GOAT meat and igbo traditional cows (efi igbo)

Let's ask ourselves this question...

What meat did our forefathers fed on for thous6of years before the fulani invasion into West Africa as recorded in history?

Your guess is as good as mine.
PlayerMeji:

It's only when the narration does not fit you, you resort to Yoruba asslicking Fulani butt... from the outset, Igbos had been the ASSLICKERS!!
Bro, you shouldn't have written all of that because everyone already knows the fact, those who you think are attacking Yorubas on this faceless forum at every given instance aren't actually Igbos but northerners with various monikers, they do it just to fan the dying embers of grievance between the two major ethnic groups of the south. Hatred built by them. Our unity is an abomination to them. Let's be wise.

Sylraph1:

IS THAT REALLY THE SOLUTION?
If none of the unconcerned Southern elites care not enough to help, then let the meat sellers combine money and invest it into cattle breeding business on ranches. Simple.

tsephanyah:

You'd do well to school yourself with the information that humans are by default omnivorous. What does climate change activist got to do with terrorists taking lives just for the sake of ruga to be established.
