Go and sworn affidavit in court for loss of sim card. Take the affidavit to the network office around u. Tell them u loss ur sim card nd that number u used it in registering ur NIN. Go with ur NIN slip, passport. Or u go to their office first, tell them u loss ur sim card, they will tell u the procedures.

your passport expires naaa likewise this one. Its a security requirement that all identification documents are re-validated at given intervals to make sure the document owner is still alive and or if any of his/her biometric features are still intact or recapture changes

Don't mind that advice that person that quoted you gave.

Just go to union bank and tell them you want to pay for change of phone number on your nimc, is not more than N1k. They will give you receipt which you will take to NIMC office for update of your phone number.

How many of them have been able to register freely?

Government was doing it free inconjunction with Master Card but woke people revolted against it, now here we are

When your passport is due for renewal, you will require it. Banks would soon start requesting same for your bank accounts to be updated but its okay if you don't need it though
