kazak: Deflation is much worse than inflation bro. Deflation is caused by low demand for goods and services. Deflation hurts business because prices must drop severely below break even to stimulate demand. Deflation means everybody might as eat their capital! Pump price is one contributor to inflation but it is not the only one. The main contributor is weakness of the NGN against the USD. There is not much anyone can do about that. 1 Like |

Bluffly: Reducing the price in Nigeria will not change anything. Instead, the prices of commodities will go up if there's a future increase from d reduced price The govt shl look into the prices of deregulated products instead |

GeorgeTheCoder: That is what you get when you have clueless schoolcert holders occupying key positions in government. When the price of crude goes up again, they will review upwards again not minding the fact that it will have ripple effect on goods and services. The difference should be diverted to other critical sectors. |

Our over dependence on oil is telling on our economy. Now oil is $27/per barrel, this simply means our budget for year 2020 is not achievable and national assemly has asked the govt to reduce the budget size since the chunk of expected income is from oil whose prize has reduce drastically. It is high time we encourage other income lines. 2 Likes |
