I don't see any reason why our igbo brothers can't make this ventilators. They only need government support.

See ehn our leaders are not visionary at all.
Imagine aba kyari moving from Abuja to lagos becos lagos it's the only place they can get a reasonable hospital to use.
Our hospitals are under extreme stress.
I met a mechanic that was turned back from 3 hospitals in one night in abuja because of availability of bed space and he child who was sickly ended up dying.
Just imagine humans planning on how to be transporting ventilators from one city to the other as if its Olympic torch.
What stops them from buying let's say 5 each for each state in the country?
What the heck is wrong with these people?
Do they smoke weed before coming out to talk or what?

Honestly speaking Nigeria is a mere reflection of its people and especially the people in power. When the country has been predominantly ruled by people from the region with the lowest education level and general development we really shouldn’t be surprised.
The likes of Buhari don’t take life seriously so they are not compelled to do the needful.

Imagine if there was not the level of illiteracy and backwardness in the North and we used the $billions spent on Boko Haram war to actually equip our schools and hospitals. It’s so sad and unfortunate!

Fire brigade approach.

For their mind they are helping us to manage the money.

This is a reflection of how they all think.. Just the
same way they won't fix the roads in the country. If one or two is functional they are OK.

I totally share your view. The so called 2nd Coronavirus death was that of an old man with serious underlying health issues and he would still have died even without the presence of Coronavirus in the world!

Meaning ministry of health is leveraging on the available ones in both government and private hospital in Nigeria in case the need arises, that's good strategy if they have the statistics of all of the ventilator in Nigeria health sector.

There is hope smiley smiley smiley

I am happy some folks are getting treated, but it becomes unbelievable when you see the lethality of the virus in Europe and Asia despite the level of their advancement and kitting up of medical workers.

Do we need to wait for emergency before we can procure equipments for our hospitals?
This is just one example of how our leaders reasons with their anus.
To have a well equipped hospital is supposed to be a right thing we should take for granted, but here we are witnessing a minister telling us that we should not bother about ventilators.
Re: Coronavirus: Nigeria May Not Need Many Ventilators For Patients – Minister by Npower: 6:08pm On Mar 31, 2020
Of all the cases we have had so far, only one actually requires a ventilator, the others didn’t require ventilator,” he said

Let me explain the above statement from the Health Minister... It means that of all the we have had do far, only one is coronavirus, others are malaria. (but we need to report more of coronavirus so we could embessle money)

Why are we like this? No one could ask him to tell us how many we have in the country. Vila hospital had to move one out of two in abuja upon all the money ear marked for equipping the hospital every year

You yourself, Mr. Minister, said you can never have enough ventilators, so how has your reasoning now led you to understand that you should not purchase more? It's like saying that since one can't be too careful, it becomes okay to be reckless.

Why are most Nigerian leaders so stupid?

People struggling for breath, will sit tight and be waiting for your stupid asses to convey ventilators from Abuja to Lagos and back, because breathlessness is moimoi for you dumbos. I hope you all continue to test positive and not be asymptomatic, to the point where you'll experience firsthand the result of your complete lack of discernment.

The cost of a ventilator soars from $10,000 to $17,000 in the US and two weeks it skyrocket to $45,000....

The question is, is there any difference between business and wickedness?

Look at food prices in Nigeria...

Demand and supply

The fact is no country is going to sell Nigeria ventilators at this point in time when US and UK is buying. He should have said they are working with a local company to produce ventilators. Anyway don't worry the minister will denies this statement tomorrow

In as much as I want to believe and accept what the Hon. Minister has said, I still can't see beyond the need to procure as many as we can get to empower many of our hospitals across all states, including the FCT.
If the ventilator is a support system for the people who have difficulty in breathing, then it's a necessity in case after corona virus, a patient need it in future after suffering from another similar ailment that affect proper breathing, in a remote neighbourhood. You might think, the solution to this is a simple procedure of transferring the said patient to the nearest facility that has the ventilator. But sometimes, in the event of transferring a patient from one facility to another, life may be lost. #MyThoughtThough.

No need to buy more, the available ones can be flown all over where they’re needed. Wonderful!
God protect us from evil!

Why pick out what you want from what he said? The gist of his entire statement was that there is a very low need for ventilators as the majority of the cases are mild. Let's be fair to each other.

How many ventilators are on ground?. We should be careful not to bury about thousands in 24hrs, in three weeks time.
