Coming on the heels of a brutal defeat of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents by Chadian armed forces, every one is asking, are they better than that of Nigeria?

Let's compare the two county's forces in strength and equipments.

NIGERIA

The Nigerian Armed Forces originated from the Royal West African Frontier Force that became Nigerian military force when independence was granted in 1960.

In 1956, the Nigeria Regiment of the Royal West African Frontier Force (RWAFF) was renamed the Nigerian Military Forces and in April 1958, the colonial government of Nigeria took over from the British War Office control of the Nigerian Military Forces.

Since its creation, the Nigerian military has fought a civil war – the conflict with Biafra in 1967–70 and has sent peacekeeping forces abroad, both with the United Nations and as the backbone of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Cease-fire Monitoring Group (ECOMOG) in Liberia and Sierra Leone .

CHAD

The Chadian armed forces consists of Ground Forces, Air Force,Gendarmerie, Republican Guard, Rapid Intervention Force, Police, National and Nomadic Guard (GNNT).

From independence through the period of the presidency of Félix Malloum (1975–79), the official national army was known as the Chadian Armed Forces (Forces Armées Tchadiennes—FAT). Composed mainly of soldiers from southern Chad, FAT had its roots in the army recruited by France and had military traditions dating back to World War I.

COMPARISON
According the Global Fire Power (GFP) an agency that monitors the military strength of nations,

Nigeria is ranked 4th in Africa while Chad comes 14th.

Nigeria has a total personel number of 120,000 while Chad has 30,500.

Air power of 129 and Chad with 35.

Land artillery of 2442 with Chad having 503.

Naval Capabilities of 75 crafts with Chad having non.

And an immense defense budget of a whooping 2.155 billion dollars while Chad has a mere defense budget of 200 thausand dollars.

This, obviously indicate Nigeria superior militaryly against Chad.

But what seem to be the matter that we can't handle Boko Haram, only for a smaller army to come and teach us how to do it.

The army fighting these people is a suicidal attempt to finish all the South trained soldiers. The battle should be between airforce Boko Haram. The soldiers should be used to do clear or clean up.

As one stated above, if a lion is being led by a sheep forget it, you can't go far. All the military equipment are waste. For how many years of boko haram insurgency and fulani herdsmen attack they can't stop it. Just look at France, recently a Sudanese attacked people with knives there and killed to people it took the government less than a week to apprehend the miscreant. But here, 70 soldiers died nothing happen no revenge on their killers and life goes on. Yet zombies will have they guts to be insulting our collective intelligence. Politics is involved with the way Nigerian Armed forces is being runs.
We need the political will to change the situation around.
We need to know that, our money is going through this boko haram fight to private army generals pockets instead of procuring military hardware and using the money for logistics.
We need to know that the military commanders are extremely enjoying sacrificing the troops mainly from the southern part of Nigeria to the boko haram fight.
Many things are not really right.
If the Chadian government will not mind, they should go ahead and round up the whole of boko haram fighters and logistics and make sure they clean up the Bush once and for all .

Fact.. Nigerian Army is way stronger than that of chadian armies. is just that Nigerian army is porous to corruption and as such, caused a huge damage that will take many years to amend.

Well let me agree first with the comparison, but if you have a car and you don't use it effectively means you own nothing... We have the Air force and the only thing they show on NTA is facilities they bomb, the air force are supposed to advance and bomb all strategic places, weapons and gathering of the terrorists they can be able to see before the Tanks will move swiftly for maneuver then the ground fighting infantry will charge through. Now that's what we call clearance operations... In a terrorist general area..
