There are 3 wires in the fuel pump assy. Positive and negative to power the pump , and the low fuel signal wire. Low fuel warning works as a floater system and a switch. When the fuel is low , the floater sinks and makes contact with ground which throws a warning light if it is consistent. The signal from the float goes to the engine ECU and not the cluster directly.

The bike is not equipped with a fuel gauge, only a low fuel warning system. When you have the warning lamp on, you have less than 5liters of fuel left which is an equivalent of over 50-70miles.

Swapped harness and installed in reverse.

Very important, check for fuel leaks.

Ideally i should check fuel pressure at supply line to ensure pump is in excellent condition, but the fuel pressure tester is in the workshop, so will not bother testing, will lookout for an elimination of the symptoms that made me replace the pump. (Delayed/multiple cranks before start and power loss)

Testing....

Startup is excellent, feels sexy like when I got it .

Unfortunately because of the lock down i cannot test the power loss (speeds of 140-180km/hr cool

Waiting on uncle sonwo and grandpa Hari to open the roads so I can test that.

Hope you enjoyed viewing.

If the lock down persists, i will open another thread for brake pad replacement cheesy .

Fuel pump assy is held down by five 10mm bolts. Comparing my oyibo used fuel assy with the one fastened to the tank.

Some people own for their brain no reach two and all don loose finish for the lock down.

Look, get a Kawasaki Ninja 250/300. They are affordable, very forgiving and easily sold once you either decide you are ready to upgrade to a higher capacity bike or biking is not for you.

I started riding in December 2013. I started with a 2010 Kawasaki Ninja 250 Special Edition. I taught myself how to ride and with the help of research I had decided that the Ninja 250 was what I needed as a beginner and no more. In 5 weeks I had outgrown it and ugraded to a 2011 Kawasaki Z750R (a bike I still own till today). I sold the Ninja 250 for exactly the same price I bought it for despite dropping it a few times and not carrying out any cosmetic repairs on it. Over the years I have also cycled a 2010 Triumph Daytona 675 through my stable.

I have zero riding experience, not even with a bicycle. How would you recommend I start? I'm a big fan of bikes.

To all of you with zero experience, look for a bike man with bajaj 110cc, pay to learn the basics, ride round your area for a while before you graduate to anything above 200cc.

With great power comes great responsibility.
