If they are fighting with fulani herdsmen i think these toys will be effective but if they are for fights against terrorism, any surface-to-air missile will shoot these down. They should get at least any lockheed martin craft (f-22, 35, 21, 16)

Thank God ,they are not bringing refurbished aircraft like PDP administration ..they killed many of our skilled military pilots with fake Aircraft they brought .

C'mon. The F35 is an air superiority fighter in the airforce frame with capabilities that have no bearing on the objectives we seek in the north east whatsover.

It has very limited ground attack capabilities (the F22 Raptor is a slightly better ground attack aircraft) and it is an integrated weapons platform which means it operates best as a component of a battle group receiving and transmitting data to lead and support operations as the case maybe.

Nigeria does not and will not have in decades to come anything near the capabilities to support or deploy such a weapons platform effectively.

This plane is actually one of the latest and a modern light attack aircraft being used by the US military. It's design with propeller is based on the role it will play as it is meant to give close air support to ground troops especially in counter terrorism operations. It can fire machine gun and cannon bombs, unlike non propeller aircraft which is mainly for air to air battle and operates on high altitude.

Why do you answer these educated illiterates, they know nothing about fighter jets & low cost effective jets that can be maintained by our engineers. These Tucano are equipped with lazer guided missiles, which means less casualties among our civilians.
