Who Can Solve This Mathematics Problem? by Martinez39s(m): 6:17pm On Apr 28, 2020
sad

Due of immense boredom, I decided to compose this simple question for Nairaland mathematicians:

If for any three angles A, B, and C,

Cos A = – Cos (B + C) and Sin A = Sin (B + C),

List all possible values of M if A + B + C = M

it started with A, B and C, Where and how did M come into this equation??

It should have been D not M.

I hate maths

Fvck I hate maths!!

I don't know sh!t about maths.

Just think of it, how and where did M get into that equation?

I thought it was going in alphabetical order.

WRONG! You are almost there. cheesy M = 360° wouldn't work (try A = 150°, B = 75°, and C = 135° as a test if you doubt me.) grin

Guiddoti, won't you attempt the question.

Answer is (0, 180+360×n) were n is an integer

Wrong! You are almost there. You are nearer to the answer than before.

NB: I have my workings, and I will post my solution tomorrow.

Possible value of M is 180°
Re: Who Can Solve This Mathematics Problem? by omolasho: 10:03pm On Apr 28, 2020
And what do you do after getting the values of M? The Whites stopped solving pure mathematics before the entry of 21 century but application of mathematics in life situation like computer science and ICT. They are advancing Artificial Intelligence(where robots will render more than half of worlds population unemployed), you are here looking for 'M' Abi? Weeere!!!

Who told you that whites stopped solving Pure Mathematics before the entry of the 21st century? If you are not interested in solving the problem, or you don't know how to solve it, leave this thread for those that are ready.

You are correct! cheesy cheesy The answer is M = (2n + 1)180°, where n is any integer. MrShape got this result, but he added 0° to his solution. Please show your working.

Re: Who Can Solve This Mathematics Problem? by guiddoti: 10:48pm On Apr 28, 2020
CosA = -Cos(B+C)
SinA =Sin(B+C)

Let B+C=K

CosA=-CosK........1

SinA=SinK............2

Resolving using Quadrant

in (1) K= theta ; A=180- theta

180=A+k......3

in (2) A= theta ; K= 180-(-theta)
K-A=180.......4

2K=360........5
K=180
Put K into 3, A=0

0,180,-180.
