Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Tuesday, visited the production center for the massive production of the nose masks in Akure, the state capital.

The Governor expressed satisfaction at the compliance with global standard by the State Committee on Production of Nose Masks.

Speaking at the production centre which has several production points in Akure during his visit, Governor Akeredolu commended the committee for using quality materials with standard specification.

According to him, with the level of work done so far by the committee within the short time of its inauguration, it was clear that it would deliver as scheduled.

Arakunrin Akeredolu used the occasion to call on all the residents of the state to ensure they wear nose masks as it is now mandatory for all to use it starting from first day in May adding that the nose masks would be distributed to the residents free of charge.

"This committee is doing a wonderful job. You recall that we put them together few days ago and they have taken up the challenge and prepared to deliver on it. What the Committee is doing is marvellous", he said

Earlier, the Chairman of the Special Committee on Mass Production and Distribution of Nose Masks, Mr Gani Muhammed said the nose masks being produced by his committee were unique and specially made with global standard.

According to him, the materials could not allow water in, and also reusable which makes it different from others.

He said over 500, 000 units of the nose masks would be delivered to the State Government as the first tranche from the Akure Centre.

Mr Muhammed added that all the tailors sowing the nose masks are indigenes of the state drawn from across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

By 2023, this will be a major point to campaign for all useless Nigerian politicians

For heaven's sake, one of the major steps to manage Covid-19 is through TESTING. Senegal have proved it, South Korea have proved it too. Why is no state government looking into that?

Italy, Spain and USA are using face masks too. Yet, wetin dey happen still dey happen.

If you are not doing much to test people, to separate the infected from the uninfected, then we are in for a very very long ride

Seconded bro.... yesterday I made a comment on a post about Anambra traders not observing social distancing neither wearing facemasks and someone said that's because Anambra is free from COVID-19...

And I asked..how are they free? Who told them! How many testing have they done? No answers....

Everyone is producing facemasks..that's good but we need more test labs and more testing is through testing that we will know who's positive and seperate them from the negative ones...

FG is getting cash donations from foreign governments and agencies , NASS is approving increase funding and IMF just approved new loan for FG....I hope they deploy those into having more testing centres and enforce practical things that will enable us return to our normal lives here

If we check very well now, there's nothing your state Governor is doing to provide face masks for the people. That's if you're proud enough to mention your state shioorr

Face masks are making people serious money now ooh!
Imagine getting a contract to produce just 1k @ 400-500 naira using Ankara and linen. That means about 400,000 to 500,000. The producer should be walking away with a net profit of 50,000 to 200,000.

That's what they are selling the local ones .....last time I went to the Pharmacy to buy one, and it cost just #150.

Those are mass produced and should cost less...
