UNPO(Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation) an NGO registered with ECOSOC and has no connection or relationship with the United Nations bodies other than ECOSOC to which it is a member within NGO branch. Anybody telling you that they have presented Biafra to the UN because they are members of UNPO is a scammer and must be beamed searchlight on. This propaganda cannot work in this age and time. UNPO is the same thing as the Organisation of Emerging African States(OEAS). UNPO has no standing at the UN General Assembly!

Nigerian and Igbo churches register as NGOs with the NGO branch of ECOSOC. World Igbo Congress is even stronger than those claiming to be members of UNPO because World Igbo Congress has consultative status with ECOSOC. But questions are : has World Igbo Congress liberated Alaigbo, why has the UN not come to the rescue of Alaigbo with all the atrocities committed against Ndigbo by Nigeria? Even BILIE HUMAN RIGHTS INITIATIVE has consultative status with ECOSOC(NGO branch). What do the NGO branch of ECOSOC do? They focus,support and engage NGOs on good governance, human rights, equal representation for women, children and others, millennium development goal, sustainable development, indigenous peoples' right to their resources etc and has nothing to do with political independence of an Nation.

Being a member of UNPO is good but bragging about it or suggesting that Biafra is registered at the UN is a mega deception in every ramification.You cannot depend on a third party NGO and claim that Biafra is a member of the UN. Have a good read below, please.

Can you proffer an iota of reason why Biafra or IPOB should be a member of Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO)? Is it by force of nature that agitators for Biafra should join Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization? Sometimes I wonder if there is brain in skulls of certain people in Nigeria. Biafra, if achieved, will never join UN because the hopeless body bought the argument of Britain in 1967 only to revise itself many years after Biafra had been defeated.

In 2015 IPOB got registered with UN-ECOSOC (United nations economic and social council) which speaks for marginalized, indigenous groups, minority states and culture.
