Abacha was born on September 20, 1943, in Kano, Kano State, Nigeria. Abacha was a student, first in the City Senior Primary School of Kano and then in the Provincial Secondary School (now Government College).

He got married to Maryam Jidah Abacha in 1965. God blessed their union with ten beautiful Children, one died in a plane crash in 1996,therefore making the total number of children nine, six sons and three daughters. Check out few interesting things about them:

Nigerians...how do you call them successful after looting what belongs to you and other Nigerians. Why do we always celebrate criminals? Somebody will steal bread from a supermarket because if hunger and you people will strip the person unclad and even try to kill the person. Politicians will steal billions from the treasury and you will be calling them successful and addressing them with greetings like "I'm loyal" Alaye, Jagaban etc
