As shared by a facebook user.
Why would an NNPC abandon so many viable oil wells in the Southeast geopolitical zones and be wasting billions of borrowed money scavenging for oil in the dry lake chad and other northern territories?
The image below is an oil well located in Eha-Ndiagu, a community in Nsukka Local government area of Enugu state,
There are also, many of such abandoned oil wells in Uzowani, Awgu and Igga communities all in Enugu state,
it is the same story in Ebonyi state,
Will a sensible government abandoned a viable oil wells and be prospecting in a dry land?
It can only happen in Nigeria,
Who did we offend in this country

Why not call on Ebele or Kanu to develop the oil well. Why do you expect a Buhari you hate to do that or you can simply wait till another person take over the FG n then advice such to develop your oil well. If I was Buhari I will have you jailed secretly for daring to expose why I refuse to develop oil well in your land with the enormous hate on me from that region but lucky for you I am not.

If true, let it be there like that. Nobody should touch it.

This oil has proven to be a curse rather than a blessing.

What people don't even know is that the British were exporting oil from Nigeria as far back as 1925.

Osus are confusing red mud for oil. Oil cannot be in barren lands where gully erosion is wrecking havoc.

Op use ur head small na. How will any company government or private abandon a functioning oil well?? Those wells are probably dried up or full of gas/water nd ofcourse people who drilled it where irresponsible enough to leave it like that.. dis is Nigeria after all they won't be caught or prosecuted.

Anyhow country! undecided

One clear observation from reading posts here in Nairaland forum. Nigeria will never ever be a country. The level of hate, acrimony at all levels and strata of society is fearful. Its seeps down even unto the upcoming generation. I only smell doom for Nigeria. Plodding and wallowing without any real purpose until it tears itself up from within. I dare to say that PMB didnt do anything to heal a country but rather engaged in the most divisive leadership by a president ever witnessed. I dont mean to be insulting but I am happy i left Nigeria and i am even more happy my children are living their life devoid of such hatred and bigotry

Untapped natural resources is not good. If the state can lias with the fg, may be they can see how to extract it. But what do you expect, corruption everywhere, law of poverty: if you want to remain poor, sit down, do nothing , be nothing.
