First, the greed & selfishness of d legislooters make them sell their constitutional rights to d executive. Aren't they the arm dt consider budget appropriation bill & approve it The Judiciary are just deceiving themselves. Who appoints them if not d executive What happens so far with d autonomy granted to d LGs? How many of the LGs executed projects do we see in our towns? So long as d executive wed more influence in how d legislooters, Judiciary officials & LGs' elective officials get into position, financial autonomy won't be significantly felt by d arms concerned nor d masses |

But come to think of it, how would people think that a Governor will perform efficiently when he knows he is the one paying both the legislative and judicial arms that are supposed to be check-mating his excesses? Whether it's amended in the Constitution or not, I think President Buhari did well in implementing the order. I know it won't go down well with the Governors and those aspiring to be Governors of their states like Ekweremadu, but as long as it will consolidate proper separation of powers, it's okay by the Nigerian masses. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I think we're not seeing it as a loophole the FG is trying to create to manipulate the judiciary of the states. One of such things that made this happen is the Amotekun law passed. With this new so-called financial autonomy backed and funded by the FG, it's easier for the FG to force the State legislators to bend to her rules than the State, thereby subverting the will of the people and the State. This is no brainier than the same old tactics of divide-and-conquer rule. 1 Like |

ogbuefi677: Did you skip the quoted part below? Seems it is better to EARNED a quality primary school EDUCATION than HAVING a degree CERTIFICATE. He said the 8th Assembly passed the amendment to the Constitution to grant financial autonomy to state Judiciary and legislature and the president dutifully signed it into law over a year ago. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

zakim: I think this Ekweremmadu needs to be invited again this year to eat yam in Germany.. It's as if the first dose Don clear he needs another dosage.. Everything to him is about selfish interest because he wants to run for governor in his state. What is wrong with judiciary dedicating funds to capital projects is that not a good development? Ekweremmadu after corona you are needed urgently in Nürnberg biko.. 1 Like 1 Share |

UbongCR7: Because it gives the federal direct access to local decision making in every state. The state legislature will now disregard their governors and look towards the centre in everything. Afterall whoever pays the piper dictates the tune. The guidelines for implementation as stated by Ike Ekweremadu would have been followed, where the governors would have an imput on how this financial autonomy will be implemented. They are already powerless in their states in many ways , why handicap them the more? 1 Like |

Susu888: You are easily swayed by populist shenanigans by the government of the day. I have lived long enough in Nigeria to know that government hardly carry out actions that favour the masses even as low as 50%. It is called reading between the lines. That's exactly the reading you ought to be doing. Peace!! |

360degreess: You sound like illiterate. All around the world, the most schooled don't always get to the highest pedestal. However, any country or people that neglect education and live based on the wisdom of an illiterate, would suffer. The question is, that he has not achieved what Buhari has achieved, does it stops him from knowing what is right? Does it make Buhari himself infallible? Does it makes Buhari above rebuke, above correction? You that is bashing someone, have you gotten to where you want in life? Do you know if this fellow have more achievements than you? How does Buhari's resume improve your state if he doesn't do the right thing? |
